Looks like he's not such a good guy now that he's stolen everyone's money.

I know a lot of people will find it very strange for me to be sticking up for Chio after coding Autoblogger Pro Stand Alone, and not being paid any money off of the sales despite providing a YEAR of support for it. But that's less than $100,000, probably, and is water under the bridge at this point. I do have a check from Chio for $14,000 that bounced for insufficient funds, though. Not sure what value that has, except to frame as a lesson in business.

That being said, I will tell you that I have known Chio for years now, and although we no longer talk after I got fucked out of the ABP money, he always at least tried to do the right thing with most other people ... well, except the coder before me, who got fucked out of what he was owed after being promised it for about 6 months.

But aside from those people, the only people I can think of who got fucked by Chio are the people who paid for Bliggo ads which either never ran or provided little to no results because the network was over-hyped and was only a handful of sites. But some of those got their money back.

Aside from that, the only people Chio fucked over are the people who haven't been paid through Verified Charge.

I guess I got a little sidetracked here ... I forgot about a lot of those people along the way.

I may be able to shed some light on the phone situation. The "United States Toll Free" number is likely his 866 Vonage number, which rings at his house in Florida. From what I know, the "Florida Office" is also a Vonage number that rings at his house in Florida. The "New York" office number is probably the Vonage number he got to look like he did business in New York, and so his Long Island family could call him "locally" on it. The "United Kingdom Office" is probably either Guy, the UK coder, or his UK Vonage number that he uses to keep in touch with Guy. The Netherlands number, which isn't listed, is probably the Vonage number that he was planning to get to talk to relatives in the Netherlands. As far as I know, all of these numbers ring to his house in Florida. I am unaware of any "real" office for Verified Charge in New York, Florida (aside from his house), the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, or elsewhere. The last I heard, it was a merchant account "piggybacking" the sites.

Especially if the addresses are fake, I'd assume that wasting your money on calling all of the different numbers is highly unlikely to provide any different result.

I have his cell phone number, but I am not sure if it's still good. Obviously, I won't post it on GFY. I have his Florida address and the name he gave me (which may be fake, because he seemed to give out fake names a lot) if that helps anyone trying to pursue the money owed to them.

Anyway, I hope all of his personal problems are resolved quickly and successfully. He's a decent guy on a personal level, and I don't wish him any ill-will, despite how everything went down. Water under the bridge at this point.

There is no other business in this world where people trust their money with a person who acts as a pirate. This can only happen in adult. I'm not gonna say i'm the smartest person here but i got to be smarter than a good bunch of people as i didn't get ripped off by a pirate.

No, and I don't want to "out" anyone who doesn't want their name spread around. This person was promised payment, then promised a computer instead of payment, then simply never paid. I've talked to a bunch of people who have not been paid through Verified Charge, and it's the same story: excuses, "I'll pay tomorrow," and "the check is already in the mail" kind of stuff from the people who have gotten in touch, and they're the "lucky" ones who actually got to talk to him. The other programmer went through the same thing .. I should know, because I was the "new" guy listening to Chio laugh about it. I was stupid not to walk away right then, because he turned around and did the same thing to me right afterwards, but he burned me for a LOT more money, and dragged my name through the mud in the process. I covered for him, as was our deal, and kept silent ... but if he's ripping more people off now, it's just ridiculous.

The ball-lickers keep sticking up for him as a "stand up guy," but history tells a different story. The crap he used to talk about some of the guys who "love" him in this thread and others is ridiculous. One guy, with blood all over his face, would have EGG all over his face if he knew how much of an idiot Chio thought he was.

people are kinda being unfair to people who act like pirates on the Internet - Chio's just one guy, one bad apple possibly, don't hold his actions against all the other people who act like pirates on internet forums but in reality are serious businessmen with whom you can trust your money.

Although he claims to be a millionaire, the only assets we've been able to find are a $136,900 house which looks like a bigger shithole than Baddog's house (no offense Baddog, I know your house is worth trillions because of where it's located). Chio isn't the reason my reputation got smashed on GFY, though. I did that to myself by my actions and the people I chose to trust and include in my ventures.

But you're right ... the statute of limitations is surely up, but it would have been a good thing to pursue at the time.

Every time I get into my Viper, I think of Chio's tan Ford Expedition. I have a picture of it (well, I have a picture of the front of his house, and the car is there, too), and it cracks me up every time. Success is the best revenge, really.

I hope you get your money tomorrow, but as a guy who heard the "I'll pay you tomorrow" song and dance for a LONG time with this guy ... I worry. :( If it's a small amount, it might happen, but I wouldn't expect any "big" payments.
