The toes need to be in proper proportion with the other ones, varying in size accordingly as they go down to the small pinky toe. They shouldn't be too big, a size 9 and under, with no toes crooked or mangled. They should be clean and kept up nice with nail polish. They should have a nice curve structure around the arch and a nice round heal.
