Server Questions
Can someone tell me which processor is faster?
Core2Quad Q6600 QUAD CORE 2.4GHZ 1066FSB or CPU: Dual Xeon? 3.06GHZ 533FSB 2CPU & HYPERTHREADING I'm getting a server and both cost the same with the same configuration (memory, disk space, etc). Is any one better than the other?? Thanks. |

If that is the case then the Quad Core would be extremely faster with our without the FSB, now if the Xeons are the new generation and have 2 cores each not hyperthreading then the xeons would be the way to go.

Thanks for the reply, I would have to check if it is a old or new generation Xeon. What hyperthreading do btw?

Hyperthreading is like hardware based multitasking, it presents two virtual cores to the OS when there's only a single physical core. (Or 4 virtual, 2 physical etc)
