30,000 uniques per month, around 1TB bandwith used?? - GoFuckYourself.com

hey guys,

my site youjav.com is eating up around 1TB of bandwith for 30,000 uniques a month....its on a shared server....and can be slow...

is that normal for tube sites?

any suggestions for hosting solution ? i probably will not be afford the costs....but i hope i can work something out, like give a permanent advertising space for a sponsor that can provide a bigger server....

has anyone done this before? give a sponsor a chunk of permanent advertising space, in return for covering the server costs ? i almost did it with asianscreens.com but my site was too puny back then (still is compared to others).

Perhaps I'm old school but that's completely insane! 30K would see me about 6GB and 15-30 sales... Not a tube site obviously.

you can see right now, what happens when visits penetrate around 10,000.....it will not load at all! http://youjav.com

the site is wanting to grow...but the server and money is a major constraint.

you have people embeding your videos. there is no way 30K users would eat that much traffic even for tube site. look in your logs for other tube sites using your stuff.

WTF! they closed it down, saying i was using too much cpu....which is bull, since it hasn't been using ffmpeg for the longest time...its just regular php and mysql wok...

unbelievable, 7 month and this happens.

Look dude, don't take any offense but they did you a favor. Now you dont have any hosting bill so you can save all that wasted money. You were never going to make any money on a tube site anyway especially hosted on a cheap virtual. You were destined to fail before you even began.

yea i know what you mean, but i think its possible with a better server. which is what im looking for.

and i probably will not get back the rest of the money i paid with teh same host.

also it was running on a shared host....VPS would be luxury.
