Ibill canning registration fee?

Just received this from Ibill:

Dear iBill Client

After further review by Visa regarding the new Internet Payment Service Provider regulations, you will no longer be required to pay the $750
registration fee. Visa regulations still necessitate iBill to register all of their sponsored merchants, making it mandatory for you to complete the registration from.

I suspect the fact that Visa has been unable to force Globill to toe the line has had something to do with this. Go Globill!!!

I KNOW iBill has been hurting. I am a SMALL site who switched from iBill to CCBill 2 months ago and iBill called my HOUSE asking me NOT to drop them...all they were doing was my rebills...I am switching my rebills over to CCBill by offering them the same rebill rate (even if they were on the original price structure of $9.95) and the first cycle is 40 days then rebill at 30 days, so basically giving them a 10 day float period in exchange for re-signing up...

If you take everyone who wont pay the fee, add all the guys who never heard they were supposed to register, and then add all the bogus accounts etc., I guarantee it is a sizeable hit on their business.

Yeah with the extremely short notice everyone had, I'm sure there's a ton of sites that haven't paid. Epoch and CCBill both offered to carry the 750. payment, with ccbill refunding via the processing fees.

Now Ibill says there's no fee..

And Probilling says "whoops" to the 24 hour downtime on processing.

WTF?!?

I want to get that email !!!

All I have gotten from Ibill ( besides headaches ) is: If you do not pay and sign up, you will not have access to the CMI -which either way happens once a week- and your account will go on DO NOT PAY.

With that attitude, right..... I may stick with them!!

Hmmm...It would be neat if Globill started this =)

Although I doubt it, even though the adult industry is a small slice of the visa pie it may have been a big enough one to prompt them to make a special deal with Ibill...As we have heard nothing from ccbill just yet and probilling seems to be having issue...Good thing I only have like 4 sales under probilling!

Nothin new seems to be happening at Globill

With the amount of business Visa does if you loose .2% of it... That's one hell of a lot of money. Visa is a business and in business to make money. Who knows what's going on, could be maybe they are thinking they went just a little 2 far... Think about it, say just 10,000 small webmaster's doing $100.00 per week every week quit the Porn Biz. I think it's called Cash Flow... and if your Cash Flow drops off... A public company has stock holders... Do you think *MOST* of the stock holders care how Visa makes it money *Fuck NO*. Look at AT&T one of the biggest Pron providers in the USA, and if you check I bet Farwell owns AT&T stock. You just don't talk about it.. It's other income..

Anyone hear anything on this?

I just got off the phone with a night shift ibill rep and he said that to his knowledge the fee is still in effect.. so this may be bullshit..

He suggested that I contact my account representative in the morning when they get in.. so we will see..

I agree.

The big problem in my opinion, is the iBill reps. I have a rep who i swear is on drugs, zooming high in the sky, everytime she opens her mouth.

It's amazing they (iBill) turn those cluelesss (reps) folks loose on us.

Could it be that your account is big enough in ibill's opinion, and it suddenly strikes them that they make enough money off you in the processing fees to absorb VISA registration payment?

All, iBill is required by Visa to charge the $750 to all high risk sponsored merchants. Adult digital content is considered high risk by Visa. All non-high risk clients (non-adult digital content, tangible good merchants) are not required by Visa to pay the fee, but are rquired to register as a sponsored merchant.

Oh dear...more half-truths from iBill. iBill is required by Visa to charge $500. The extra $250 was put there by "other entities" wanting to pad their pockets. That's why PayPal doesn't charge that extra $250 to take it up the ass.

I just spoke to Ibill and they told me that on non adult sites Visa has decided against the $750 fee.
My site may be considered adult by some although there is not any porn.

I have given Ibill a LOT of shit over the $750 fee, I didnt feel they were doing anything to hold onto their customers and the fact that I have processed over $700,000 with them didnt seem to matter. Maybe not a lot to them but its not pocket change either. When I told them I was going to use ccbill instead they said "Ok, but you are going to lose your rebills"...I said, yes, and so are you, and they said "nice doing business with you"... not very smart people in my opinion.

*If* what you say is true, then why am I seeing *this* statement when I log in to iBill CMI?!?

Quote:
Our records indicate you have not filled out the iBill-Visa registration form located at XXX.XXX.XXX/signup/re_signup_login.cfm It is important that all iBill merchants fill out this form. Only US based merchants accepting VISA will be required to pay the registration fee at this time but all merchants are required to register. In order to gain access to the CMI you must fill out the iBill - VISA registration form.

Explain. We are a subscription based adult website offereing nothing but downloads. Do you work for iBill? If you are the left hand, why do you not know what the right hand is doing?
