Maybe I'm fucked up, but would anyone list this

Besides movie post owners...

1*5MB movie, on paid hosting, no blind links.
Movie post owners have been listing this for months without any problems, but I'm having trouble getting TGP owners to list this kind of thing or anything even close to it.

Maybe the standard is still at freehosted 10 * 300KB?

Simply put, it's just too much of a download.
And have you ever considered that giving a surfer a full 1-minute movie gives him no reason whatsoever to go into a paysite? Why should he, when he can get stuff like that for free?

Other than that though, post your gallery URL (even one where you take out the active link for the movie so we don't burn up your bandwidth) - it could be the gallery design is too busy or something. Without seeing it, we can only guess.

PS - most TGPs use scripts to screen submissions. The script doesn't know that your one movie is equal to the "value" of 5 movie clips... it just knows that you have one movie link where the requirement is 5.

The movies are not 1 minute, they're 40 seconds per file, well encoded in mpeg format.

Never, that argument is mainly favored by newbs and anyone that lacks sales skills. It holds absolutely no water, other than in extreme cases. It can't even be applied to password sites... look at how much Ultra Passwords is making. It isn't the biggest site in the world. And yes, there are many real passwords on their site. Not that I encourage password sites... but you can see where I'm going with this.

Admittedly, for those people who don't usually purchase porn on the Internet, giving them free ANYTHING makes that habit worse. Freeloaders are worth nothing. 0. No matter what is put in front of them... they'll never buy. Seeing pics of anal hardcore may raise their interest (or multiply their interest). But that doesn't matter. Just like multiplying 0 by any other number... the result is always 0. Freeloaders will be freeloaders. They don't buy because they don't have a card, because they don't understand the language, because they're scared, because they're underage, there are dozens and dozens of reasons.

As for people that are willing to buy, it's a matter of raising their interest by just the right amount so that they're ready to buy by the time they hit the join page. For traffic coming from link sites, it's a combination of a good sample (pics or movies), and a quality tour that shows people what they want to see, and looks trustworthy.

Just a matter of finding the right balance between giving away not enough, and giving away too much. To a visitor, the samples on a gallery stand for the quality of the material inside the pay site. As ever, too much and nobody will buy. But it's not like I'm giving out free Adult Bouncer passes here, is it?

It's pretty hard to justify how giving away more hurts sales when anyone looks at the results I had going from small to large movies. 9 * 300KB (I was using 9, it's much easier to create a good layout in 3 by 3 style) movies brought in around 100 sign ups per month. Posting a single 5MB file is currently bringing in close to 350 sign ups per month. I fail to see how giving away a little more is hurting sales at all... but hey, give too much, and they'll go back down again. ;-)

You know, it's kind of like free sample cookies at the supermarket. From which situation are you most likely to buy more?
Situation A: They give you 10 free, average tasting small cookies. Nothing special.
Situation B: They give you 1 great tasting free cookie, 3 inches in diameter, smooth texture and full of chocolate chips.
Situation C: Like situation B, but they give you 10 of them.

Personally I'd say that I'd buy more cookies in situation B. Of course, if everyone was giving away large movies, we'd have a situation C and nobody would find anything. It's just a matter of balance. ;-)

How could the argument that my method is "hurting the biz" possibly hold water, when it's putting more than 3 times more money into the online adult business than the 9*300KB movie method?

I can understand where you're coming from with the file size issue though. Must run a few tests with different file sizes. ;-)

I've been rejected even on sites accepting submissions by email. ;-)

The greatest things is... movie posts with email submission DO take the galleries.
