you are the exact reason I turn my porch light off on Halloween.

There was one house on my old street like that, back in the early 70's. That guy's house was always dark on Halloween, and all the kids thought the people who lived there were too cheap. So every year on the morning after he'd find his house covered with eggs from the night before.

He eventually moved. :D

I vowed back then that when I got older and owned a house I would never ever be "that guy".

But...just out of curiosity, you don't live in a trailer park do you? :D

Yes, but they only allow single wide trailers. Double wides are for rich people. :)

I love how the cops drive in the cars and hand out candies.. they honk their horn and all the kids come running to get candy from a guy in a car holding out candy..

like kids are not taught over and over not to take candy from strangers especially in cars.

Well, whatever the date you want to use, my point was that it may or may not of even happened yet everyone was led to believe it was an epidemic.

I remember as a kid hospitals offered free x-rays of candy to make sure there were no razor blades inside.

Point was, it was silly hysteria.

Wow. Is there any chance you're heavily over weight? I ask because surely you must have known at least in the back of your mind when you were buying all of that chocolate that there's no way you'd give even a tiny portion of it away. A part of you _WANTED_ it around, because hey someone's got to finish it, right?

Psychology of being fat right there. I know, because I used to do the same things. :)

:1orglaugh You're so swift on the uptake it hurts. Of course I wanted some. Fact is I don't buy anything remotely like it the entire year, and in fact there was about a 5 or 6 year period a while back where I never bought a chocolate bar, ever.

Yes, I have a bit of chub on me. Nothing major, maybe 15 lbs at most. I'm 6'4" and just under 240 lbs right now so it's kind of hard to spot. But you and I have spoke on other threads about fitness before, where I told you that this past summer I did a lot of mountain biking and walking. Did a few 30+ km bike rides, and many many 3+ km walks. I also have a multi gym in the basement that I've been using. I'm 45, I don't think that's too bad a regimen for a guy my age.

But no, I don't plan on finishing all this halloween loot myself. I have plenty of nieces and nephews and kids in my family to treat now and again that it will be gone from my evil grasp in no time.

You have to have a sense of humor about these things. :D

We had three groups of kids for a total of about 13. I only bought one bag of candy so we don't have a massive amount leftover. I was surprised we even had any kids since we live in an area with no real through streets and not many kids.

What did you give those kids? I'll bet it was something good.

I might have to dress up as a giant midget next year and come around your place sack in hand. :D

Just the same when taking our kids out for Halloween when they are very young.. like us parents are going to let them eat a entire pillow case of candy.. were all eating it ourselves when the kids are gone to bed.. and we all fucking know it when the kids are running up and down the walkway.. you can hear all the parents laughing about it.

Fucksakes 11-01-2008 12:29 PM

we had about 8 kids this year too, had gotten all dressed up to pass out candy at home but they were pretty much gone around 9pm, so we left the rest of the candy on the porch and took off for the club instead. luckily (i'm sure just one teenager) all of it was gone when we got back and they didn't take the bowl! :)

Mr Pheer 11-01-2008 02:56 PM

I had about 150 kids come by. Went thru 8 big bags of candy from costco and didnt have any left.
