I'm sure this takes the sting of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers denying you a trip to SB 37( the Bucs WON that SB ) and the Tampa Bay Lightning denying you a chance to play in the Stanley Cup Finals( Tampa won that too ). So I guess 2 out of 3 aint bad for Tampa vs Philly.

Kind of sucks that team that spend nearly $200 million can't compete with a team that spend only $44 mil. Until Someone else wins the AL pennent the Rays are king of hill and the Yankees better get used to that. They aint taking shit from the Skanks and the Red Sux anymore.

You know what? I am more than happy to allow the Philly fans to enjoy their moment in the sun. It just comes off as sour grapes. I haven't talked to anybody from back home that didn't tip their hat to the Rays. It is just years and years of frustration spilling out. Deal.

I am just to happy about the win to let anyone bring me down.

We miss the Expos in Montreal, but in their last years, this is exactly why people abandonned the Expos: they were a 30-35 millions team playing against ridiculous 190 millions team. We lost every good player we ever had because we couldn't pay them once they were hot.

MLB, IMHO, should have a salary cap and should share the profits like the NFL does. The NFL is the best business model of all pro sports!

i took a sports law class in my undergraduate studies and you're absolutely right pat, the nfl has the best business model of the major sports leagues.

but back to the topic...PHILLIES WIN!!! i was at the game last night (and monday lol) and then walked up broad street to celebrate!!! it was surreal. i cried, grown men cried, i danced and sang...this is absolutely amazing.

Yeah, it's a shame what happened to the Expos...especially the last couple years where they were just kind of there but not there....it dropped attendance to almost nothing and it's too bad...I remember so many great players coming out of that ball club...

I still love baseball, but hate some of what Selig has done the last couple years to it...
