So late last night I had a Taco Bell volcano combo (should have known better) and today it hurts like a bitch. Hurts enough that I can't go out to get anything. I do have Tums but I just did some research on how it basically does nothing for you. I've heard good things about Pepcid Complete if anyone can recommend it. Anything else you find works for you to cure it other than lots of water and almonds

Zantac 150 is nice for the occasional episodes. Prilosec is a miracle if you have chronic heart burn.

i had some problems last year.. too much red wine and cigars and not enuf sleep etc.
i tried prilosec and it was better, then i tried zantac 75 and it worked really well..

i dont have problem any longer, the real cure is exercise and sleep atleast 6-7 hours.

Pepcid AC is the best over the counter for me. I actually have prescribed shit for heartburn i have a lame sypmtom where my stomach pertrudes my esophogus (sp) so without it i have acid reflux 24/7.

Bottom line before i had the prescribed shit, Pepid worked like a champ.

I used to have very bad acid reflux. It would wake me up 5 out of 7 nights/week. Then my cardiologist turned me on to the absolute most effective thing I've ever taken and it is called Protonix 40mg

It's not over the counter and it's not cheap but it is worth its' weight in gold. Been on it for 4 years and haven't had acid reflux since I started it.

I've done the Zantac's (best of the group), Prilosec, Gaviscon, Tums, Pepcid AC. In comparison, they're all bologna and Protonix is Fillet Mignon.

Zantac 150 is the only thing that works for me. i get bad acid reflux from pasta sauce, coffee and orange juice

Been on Prevacid for years. Right now I have 3 ulcers at a surgical point in my stomach and I'm also taking Carafate. Still get a stomach ache if I eat Mexican though ;)

I used to have it so bad I kept a bottle of Tums or Rolaids handy at all times. I went on a raw food diet and it never returned.

Few things.

First off, Dont eat taco bell or anything like that for a few weeks.

Go to walmart or a pharmacy and get Alak mints. Made by alkasletzer. Typicall you get reliefe the minute they hit your tongue.

NEVER chew those or any other mints. Let them disolve slow and they will work better. Star lite mints will work as well.

Lastly.
Have someone you know cross the border and grab you a few bottles of Omeprazole http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omeprazole

Take that for 7 days straight, and then stop. If you Know you will be eating something bad like that take 1 a day for a day or so ahead and after the meal.

Pepcid Complete works really well. I have acid reflux a lot due to a medication I take. I think Pepcid Complete works the best out of all of them.
