				Mac pro memory

Anyone have any particular experience with a brand of after market memory for the mac pro? I just ordered one, and decided to look around for memory, rather than pay through the nose to have it included, but I know that not all memory really responds favorably, so i'm curious as to if anyone has ACTUAL experience with any particular brand, and what the outcome was.

I can't remember the exact brand I bought. Might have come from a place on amazon. Can always check Corsair or Crucial as well as they have good ram.

bought 2gig of Kingston and since my Macbook pro resets randomly.. i returned the 2 gig for new ones and this is still happening..

When i remove the battery the resetting stops.. the ram is above the battery so i guess it's some heat problem of the batter heating up the ram too much.. dunno.. not a big deal as i do most my work on my iMac 24 3.06 What a great machine it is..

Mac doesn't use proprietary memory, so just find out the specs you need and buy a quality brand and you will be find. I have bought, Crucial, Corsair, Kingston, Gskill, OCZ without issues.

I've heard about lots of problems with Kingston, unless you take out the existing memory, and replace it all with the same make.

I just got whatever they had at Fry's. Been working great. I recommend 4 GB. Memory is so cheap now.

I'd never buy anything from them again, and wouldnt reccomend it to anyone else. I ordered from crucial today, and it'll be here tomorrow, so at least I'll have a little more memory while I wait. |
