wow.
sorry. Rolling Stone is chasing the dumb vote. Not mine.
I waded through most of the slimy article but gave up at the "he wasn't tortured for 5 years, just the first 2"

I'd like to see the Rolling Stone piss ant go through "only" 2 years of torture.

oh, and where is the hit piece on obama?
too funny.
but the stupid vote was going to the dems anyway. this doesn't change much

Two weeks of torture and then being confined to a motel room with shitty room service for five years would break 99% of the people on this board.

"I really could not finish this article, and it's a shame because I wanted to read it. If this is not swift-boating a person, I really don't know what is. I would never vote for John McCain as president, but this really is some Jerome Corsi-type stuff. The thing that is so shocking is how positively Rovian the article is; it zealously attacks McCain's perceived strength -- a la the Rove playbook -- with second-hand hearsay, de-contextualized history, and only the faintest praise of good deeds. The author actually damns McCain -- who had two broken arms and a broken leg and was in agony -- for telling his captors about his family pull. Think about the balls (or lack thereof) to actually accuse someone of that!

Listen, McCain has run a secretive, cynical, mean-spirited campaign and his "maverick" label has taken a beating. He was a bit of a lout as a young guy (I sure hope they don't start banning jerks from the military!), and not so great a pilot. I feel pretty safe in saying, however, that no one reading this article has sacrificed more for his country. That means something to a lot of Americans. For people to treat that sacrifice and, yes -- heroism -- as an inconvenient barrier to more efficient character assassination...well, I just have to thank you for reminding me why I don't read Rolling Stone anymore."

That's funny because demographics from the last election clearly showed folks with an IQ ABOVE a certain baseline voted other than Bush. That only proves there are more dumbasses in this country than folks who can think for themselves and not follow the herd

The party of the 6,000 year old Earth is the intelligent one in this country. Surprising how all the red states are near the bottom of our educational rankings.

In the same token, the red states are the poorest and least educated. They are technically the welfare states in our country by taking in more resources than they pay in.

if you removed the poor from the blue states, they'd be red stats as both the numbers and pic I've posted show.

oh, and in the same token. the rich state of california needs a $7 billion loan so it doesn't go bankrupt. This loan will surpass the federal bailout of that other rich state, New York which was only $2.5 billion.

so much for resources, welfare states, etc.

And if you removed the states that drag down our economy, you'd have mostly blue states.

They whole thing is much more complicated than that. For instance, Kerry killed with PHDs while Bush wins on just regular college graduates. Bush also won handily with people who don't have a college degree too.

You can blame that on the fact that they get screwed by the federal government.

For every $1 that a California resident pays in federal taxes, they receive $0.78 back. In New York, they only get $0.79 back.

If they weren't forced to bailout states like Mississippi ($2.02 for every $1 they put in) and Alaska ($1.84 for every $1 they put in), they would have a massive surplus. Most of the blue states can survive without the federal government, the red ones can't.

describe "drag down" since New York is number 4 out of 50 in receiving the most federal aid per capita.

I believe they also pay in one of the most. Here is what I'm talking about dragging down.

http://www.taxfoundation.org/taxdata/show/266.html

States that receive more money than they put in. New York gets absolutely fucked by the federal government.

well, I guess when you're bankrupt and looking for a loan, you'll blame just about anything on your own problems.

well I guess we could give the land back to the indians.
I mean, we don't need alaska for anything, right?

And all of this makes my statements no less true. the rich vote republican, the poor vote for the party offering them handouts.
remove the poor from the voting rolls and a democrat would never win an election.

I agree, although the rich have received quite a bit in handouts from the government of late (Bear Stearns, AIG, Fannie/Freddie, etc).

The same could also be said about Republicans. Remove the people who believe the Earth is 6,000 years old and they never get elected. Our voting system is fucked up. People who don't pay any taxes at all should not have a vote. Nor should people who can't figure out that the Flinstones wasn't a documentary.

Back in 1861 the blue states had their chance, but no they grabbed their muskets and dragged them back under the federal governments control.

An older man said "I don't see how anyone can vote for Obama. He killed thousands of people. Just because he shaved his beard and sounds like he speaks perfect English now isn't enough for me to vote for him. McCain will go kill him for us and get justice."

The table all agreed completely, that Barack Obama was actually Osama bin Laden.

No, I am not joking. That's how stupid Americans can be.

PS. They said Foxnews has been an excellent source of election news.

yup.
the choice is between an idiot as VP who won't raise my taxes or a president who will pander to his base (the poor) and raise my taxes.

sorry. I choose the idiot and my money.

Really post those results. If its the thing I think it is, it was proved patently false.

individual-level income/vote breakdown from exit polls for the 2004 presidential election:

Income %R %D
<$15K 36% 63%
$15-30K 41% 58%
$30-50K 48% 51%
$50-75K 55% 44%
$75-100K 53% 46%
$100-150K 56% 43%
$150-200K 57% 43%
>$200K 62% 37%
Main reason being repubs always tout themselves as being for less taxes and small government despite never delivering it.

12clicks is hilarious. If you pretend he's a 9 year old girl, you start to laugh at what he says because it makes more sense that way. A grown man saying what he says is just confusing.
