You can listen to it in streaming format via their site. Personally, I think it's a piece of shit. If you like old school Metallica (Master Of Puppets, ...And Justice For All) you'll be bitterly disappointed. I'm personally not going to waste my money on it and naturally I wouldn't advise anyone else to do so either.

I like it. Not their best, but still better than a lot of garbage that gets released. Worth the money in my opinion.

I like their new release. It is not identical to "Master Of Puppets" or to "Ride The Lightning" but it is alot heavier than their most recent releases. In my opinion, I think that has a little to do with Robert Trujillo being in the band. I don't think the guys are ever going to go back to the days where just about all of the songs are like "Master Of Puppets" - song after song - and if they want to stay as successfull as they are then they really shouldn't - coming from a marketing standpoint. If they did, they would probably lose nearly 50% of their fan base. And for the guys that are being so harsh on them, I don't think that's very fair if you ask me. I mean, they are trying to continue their progression but yet, also trying to sustain the heaviness in at least parts of the new release so that the old school fans will still like it. I mean, listen to this new release and then listen to the last one. You can tell that it is heavier and the sound is so much better too. With the last release, Lars sounded as if he was pounding on a tin can instead of a snare drum! I hated that! Don't get me wrong though, I prefer the old school shit too. I am 38 years old and I started listening to them at the age of 14 years old so I definately know my Metal.

All in all - it is not the same Metallica that we grew up with back in the days of "Kill 'Em All", "Ride The Lightning" or "Master Of Puppets" but in my opinion, it is definately the best Metallica release that they have put out in a long time.

I like it. Most of the songs are long musical grinds with an old and new style mix.

It's not on sale because it's not selling. I think they've sold almost a million copies in 3 weeks.

I downloaded the whole album for Guitar Hero. I plan on "playing" through it in one sitting...as soon as I free up about an hour.

James cant sing, and he really should stop trying to carry notes. His style of singing back in the day is what he needs to go back to.

Musically it aint too bad ( compared to the last few releases) but james'es vocals kill it all

If your a old school Metallica fan, your probally not going to like it. But alot of the younger kids who didnt grow up with the REAL Metallica, will think its the best thing to ever hit the metal market.

I tried to like it, but i just cant bring myself to get into this new cd

If the new single is a reflection of the album then I won't be buying it.

I agree with you 100%. To add to your comments, the production is horrible and the drums sound like shit, ha ha.
