Please I own one my friends own 2 I've know other people that ave owned them I have NEVER been attacked. I have been attacked unprovoked by a German Shepherd and a chiuaua before. I still don't care to be around either breed.

Pit bulls aren't the bad asses of the dog world. One Akita could take on 3 pitbulls and kill them easily.

Ive got 2 and they are the most friendly dogs. Blame the owner not the dog. Dogs are trained what to do. They don't know on there own.

I know two people that had them and I know two that attacked other dogs, with one ending up dead. Most people that have these dogs cannot control these dogs when it comes down to it. In the 1960's German Shepparad was the "killer breed". No doubt if Akitas were cheap to own they would get that rep eventually.

I swear once I saw a poodle rip a pitbull to shreds. I was going to try an break it up but I thought the pitbull would hold it against me in the long run.

pitbulls were family pets for the longest time. The dog in the little rascals was a pit. My pit mix is so gentle and when even scared wont bite a person.Unless they are trying to break into the house then she goes nuts as she would. Now if she sees dogs fighting she wants to jump in the mix so she can never be off leash.
its not the breed, its poor breeding, poor training and a change of culture that pits become the equivalent of a carrying a 45.

its usually the owner....but that being said certain breeds do have tendencies...if you arent a good dog owner...you have no business owning a medium sized dog

a german shephard will tear through most other dogs in seconds

hell i watched mine as a kid rip the shit out of two mid sized terriers/bulldogs after they bit my sister.

ill even tell the story.....i was walking up my hill toward my sister, the dog was at the bottom, tied up with a chain we though she could never break...lol
anyway the dogs were owned by some people who came up each summer, and the dogs were vicious they had attacked me but i was on my bike and just drove away.
anyway that day i was halfway up the hill when they attacked my sister, she screamed a real scream that brought Bo(our dog) out of her house and running full speed. the chain snapped like it wasnt even there...it was a big ass chain as well...anyway i started to run up the hill...Bo passed me after maybe 8 seconds...and i got to the top of the hill just in time to see the two dogs starting to realise they had fucked up big...lol
she just ran full speed into the first one and chest butted it..sent it flying (bo was over 100 lbs) then she stopped on a dime turned and picked the other one up by the rib cage, she just sank her teeth in..and started shaking and pushed it to the ground...then she turned on the other who was already running away....she didnt chase it though..she went and just sat down beside my sister

i miss that dog

Yea i get your point. Now, you're probably right... small dogs are more aggressive but thats cus they are fucking small, they always feel they need to prove themselves. they are provoked more easily. The stats i was asking for was more along the lines of this...

My Lab Retriever has play dates with a very nice pit bull...they run through the woods together, bite each other wrestle, etc -- and there's never a hostile moment.

Here's the key -- the owner is a sweet 22 year old girl who has raised him properly.

The breed usually attracts macho jack-offs who want to be seen walking around with their muscled up attack dog on a choker chain. The dog is an extension of their douchey-ass selves.

Not saying they're all like that, because as I pointed out, I know a good owner personally -- but I also know of about 3 different thuggy looking assholes who walk around my neighborhood with their pits, and everyone steers clear of them. You can always tell if the dog needs to be avoided by watching the owner. If they look like an asshole, and seem anxious (because they don' know what their vicious dog is going to do), it's time to cross the street.

Exactly the ones who should be shot with the dogs are the dumbass owners who train them to be aggressive like this.

One of my buddy rescued a few of Mike Vics pitbull and he let's his kids play with the animals now.

They're aggressive because their owners train them to be that way. Have you ever seen a chiuaua devoid of human interaction? They're docile and rarely bark. Also, the news broadcast itself said they were American Bulldogs, not Pits. A different breed entirely, and they were 60 to 80 lbs. An absolutely HUGE Pit would be about 65 lbs and anything above that is really abnormal. Pits aren't big dogs like that, they're medium sized dogs, very quick and agile. Not huge and bulky.

exactly! I live in AZ and saw it on the news, it wasn't pitbulls but bulldogs. I really believe it's not the dogs but the owners that make a dog what it is. These 2 dogs were placed outside with a "beware of dogs" sign to be mean and scare people away from thier property but the owners left the gate open and they should be locked up.

In the article they were referred first as American Pit Bulls and then later as American Bulldogs. They may have just tagged them as pitbulls for the attention that draws.

Every pit I have ever been around have been extremely friendly and harmless. Its all about how they are raised. And the dogs that are raised to be vicious through starvation and beatings are victims too. Its the owners that should be put down, not just the dogs.

I think that a dog is the product of how it's raised. My dog is half pitbull and half sheppard and he's a big 110 pound baby. He'd never hurt anyone. His mom was 100% pure pitbull and one of the most pleasant dogs I've seen.

bronco67 Too lazy to set a custom title Join Date: Dec 2006 Posts: 29,032	My Lab Retriever has play dates with a very nice pit bull...they run through the woods together, bite each other wrestle, etc -- and there's never a hostile moment. Here's the key -- the owner is a sweet 22 year old girl who has raised him properly. The breed usually attracts macho jack-offs who want to be seen walking around with their muscled up attack dog on a choker chain. The dog is an extension of their douchey-ass selves. Not saying they're all like that, because as I pointed out, I know a good owner personally -- but I also know of about 3 different thuggy looking assholes who walk around my neighborhood with their pits, and everyone steers clear of them. You can always tell if the dog needs to be avoided by watching the owner. If they look like an asshole, and seem anxious (because they don' know what their vicious dog is going to do), it's time to cross the street.

A different breed entirely, and they were 60 to 80 lbs. An absolutely HUGE Pit would be about 65 lbs and anything above that is really abnormal. Pits aren't big dogs like that, they're medium sized dogs, very quick and agile. Not huge and bulky.

My dog is half pitbull and half sheppard and he's a big 110 pound baby. He'd never hurt anyone. His mom was 100% pure pitbull and one of the most pleasant dogs I've seen.
