Rubber Soul - you know who...

my musical tastes go from NWA to Frank Sinatra to Miles Davis to the Ramones, but if I had to pick one and only one song as the 'best' song, whatever that means, it would be 'In My Life' from this album.

I guess if you asked me this question 12 years ago I would have answered MINOR THREAT "Out of Step" 7 inch

But at this stage in my life, probably "Ella Fitzgerald sings the Classics" Nothing like some classic Gershwin, Hart, and Porter sung by a musical goddess.

i just saw frank in this... i'm the same way. my favorite all time is pearl jam, but i absolutely love everything frank, or elton, or trent.... music is to live by... people who pick and choose are wasting their time. imo

Dayum, I haven't heard anyone mention Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes in years! I'm born & raised in Philly and as such, I'm an east coast rock fan too. Ever listen to Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers? I absolutely LOVE their stuff, although Tommy is no longer with the Rumblers. His latest band is The Little Kings. He's also worked with Dynagroove, if you've ever heard of them.

And Pink Floyd. If you really believe that there is "nothing great about their sound and style" then I truly pity you. NOBODY sounds like Pink Floyd and that is the point. They are 100% original and their sound is out of this world. Unlike The Stones who ripped off virtually everything from The Blues to The Beatles Pink Floyd are truly and unashamedly unique.

It all about originality.
I couldn't agree more. And they sound far better "live".

And how about Yes?

There just aren't groups like these anymmore, and probably will never be.

If there were only one album left in the world, I would look for the last record player in the world to play it on.

Howlin' Wolfs - The London sessions. Absolutely awesome and Muddy Waters "live at Mr Kellys"

Those two for me never get old no matter how often I listen to them, the cassettes never leave the truck.

I saw Tull in concert 12/86.. Great stuff.

Saw Bowie 5 to 7 years ago when it was suppose to be his last concert playing the old stuff..

"SUGAR" by Tonic. I have hundreds of CDs and I find myself just keeping that one in the car close at hand. It is just very well written and the engineering is top notch.

Only one logical choice......Jimi......"Are You Experienced".....I mean c'mon!!!! check out the tracks on that album here:

"Hey Joe"
"Purple Haze"---the track from the movie "Apocalypse
"Foxy Lady"
"The Wind Cries Mary"
"Are You EXperienced?"

all are classics and great examples of how a guitar in the hands lf a MASTER can actually "sing"..........Yo, Jimi rocks!!!!

I have read the book 7-8 times.

Were do you come up with he couldnt cope with reality? Becasue he took drugs and drank? [sarcasm] That certainly was a tell all sign in the 60's and 70's [/sarcasm]

Aerosmith, Elton John, Lennon, McCartney, et al, Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, U2, Madonna, Mariah Carey, or Celine Dion.

Something from Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, or Bob Marley but I can't decide between them. They're all too damn good.
