No one gave a concise answer on the bailout, probably one of the biggest policy decisions we've made in half a decade.

McCain scored better on this because he did propose a possible dramatic action in cutting spending on all but a few critical things. It may not work, but he laid out something specific he would likely do.

The reality is the President can't fix the problem. I'm with those that say don't go thru with a bailout. It's best to have some pain now than to postpone it and make it even worse.

The CNN poll clearly has Obama the winner.

like 51% to 38% + or - 4.5

McCain and supporting Veterans is a total lie, a joke, and can be disproved over and over and over again. Just because you jump in a few key things that everyone supports, doesn't mean you actually back total support for them.

I'm not saying Obama does, but saying McCain does is just a fucking lie.

I'm a Vet that has fought for 10 years for my medical benefits that I am with out question in titled to. I live in Arizona, where is McCain for the Vets in his state?

I respect you both for being vets.

I think it speaks volumes when people defend our nation and our freedom, have to come home and defend our freedom again here on our own soil.

In the two previous times that Obama and McCain shared a stage, Obama didn't knock it out of the park, and clearly did worse IMO than McCain on one of those occassions. I wanted to see Obama perform as good free form as he does with a teleprompter and he passed that test to me.

Neither has a solution to the economic problems. Neither has a solution to foreign policy. Both are going to cost more billions with no gaurantee of success. Will there ever really come a time when Iraq becomes a stable democracy so we can pull out without the place erupting in civil war? If you end the Iraq war but kickstart the one in Afghan and Pakistan, you're still at war spending money, lives.

The best solutions are coming from 3rd party candidates.

I thought that at first, and then I understood. Many Vets don't follow much other than what the news media pushes them. If Obama said anything, it would come across as an attack.

Maybe saying, I do plan on supporting our vets to the fullest, and I will prove that once I'm in office, I guarantee that, that would have helped.

I does come off odd that he didn't defend the basic idea of it at all.

Tomorrow when the polls post and we CLEARLY see that Obama won this round, how stupid will Fox news watchers feel?

RedShoe 09-26-2008 09:14 PM

In all honesty though, I feel that this election has been the most enjoyable for me. As a kid I couldn't stand when my parents would watch this shit on TV. I didn't care really until this election. I voted against Bush twice, but didn't really follow up on all of the commentaries. I didn't go out and have conversations about it.

This time that's all changed. Everyone I know and talk to is hyped about this election. The brothas I work with all went out and registered for the first time in their lives. It's exciting.

I get the feeling, that more is at stake, more is on the line. This will be a first all around, no matter who wins. Either a black man in office, or a woman VP.

These are exciting times bros.

Now think about this, for us here in America, it's turbulent, it's exciting. Things are on the brink of collapse, we are at our lowest (or close to it) there is no place but up from here. This feeling, this thickness in the air, it's exciting.

These are exciting times bros.

Ok, so Obama wants to put broadband into rural areas!!!

PEOPLE! Do you see how much more revenue that can bring us? :winkwink::thumbsup

Not a new concept toots.

Clinton's made same proposal. Congress gave telcos millions to upgrade US broadband to Europe, and Japan speeds. Plus get internet into rural areas. The telcos spent, and kept the money. Did not do anything except spend time and resources wiping out their competition.

Now they claim they need more money, or will start cutting services.

You have to love corporate America....

:disgust

why do I get the feeling that we will have a nuclear war if McCain gets elected ... He only cares about the conflict in iraq.... We are pissing off the world big time with bush in office...just think , having a president that has the war as the top priority will fuck us up even more.... we are spending all our money to fix countries that are past the point of no return... my guess is our economy will crash if mccain is elected

Drake 09-26-2008 09:36 PM

If the remaining Presidential debates are as even-handed, I think that much of the decision in this election is going to come down to the VP debates. If Palin exhibits the same unpreparedness and/or lack of confidence in her debate with Biden that she has in her interviews, the race could be handed to the Democrats. I expect a close race no matter what happens, but the political climate and the social winds appear to be shifting more in one direction each day. Short of blunders or change in political climate, it's hard to envision why it won't continue.

It could crash even if Obama is elected. Our economy is like a freight train right now. No one is going to just slam it into reverse. It needs to be slowed down, stabilized, then put into reverse.
