I don't follow.

Help me understand.

You have a site that makes $40.00 a month, and you are selling it for $2500.00

I didn't say I was selling it for $2500 ... I'm taking offers from $2500.

However, with that said, it's conceivable that I could let it go for only $2500, if only one person makes an offer and I choose to sell it anyways.

IDNs with decent natural traffic are few and far between ... the revenue alone isn't reason to buy it, but rather affirms that the traffic it gets is quality. Someone with some skill / targeted content could easily grow the traffic / revenue.

Also, traffic will likely grow in the future as IDNs become more widely utilized, and even more so if the proposed IDN aliasing of .COM (see VeriSign website for more details) is implemented.

Feel free to make an offer. Detailed stats will be provided privately to qualified buyers.

So it's xn--dkqse.com in latin characters? How exactly does this work?

Read up on Punycode http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punycode

In a nutshell, newer web browsers (FF2+ and IE7+) can automatically resolve international (often non-latin) characters into the latin based punycode domain.

And in the near future, the TLD (the extension part, such as .COM) will may also be internationalized via aliasing (ie. verious translations of .COM would point to the current .COM automatically) - if that happens, IDN usage in gTLDs, such as .COM, especially in various asian countries, could skyrocket!

IDN conversion tool ... convert IDN to Punycode or Punycode to IDN. Ignore RACE encoding, which was used during the IDN testbed back in 2000 - it's been mostly all superseded by Punycode.

http://mct.verisign-grs.com/index.shtml

IDNs are big business, with better ones selling for many thousands of dollars. It's still a small market compared to traditional latin-based domains, but a rapidly growing one.

Check out NamePros.com IDN forum for more info.

Hope this helps.

People have been saying these things are going to be huge for years now. I think English is become more of a universal language and people are taking that direction instead of IDNs. But that's just me, maybe in 5 years someone will bump this and laugh at me.

I'll say it again ... much of the value is in the nature of the domain itself - IDNs that get quality traffic are few and far between.

Generic domains aren't just valued on revenue.

And anyways, ~$40 per month (conservative figure; it's done more - upwards of $100 a few months back) is just being parked on a default adult lander - presumably skilled folks in the business likely could target that traffic much better right away earning more.

You're trying to sell a domain that makes $40 a month for $2500? And on top of that, the domain is targeted to chinese traffic, which is, and has been, considered about the worst possible adult traffic you can get since the beginning of the net.

Did you invest in Lehman stock too?

Big difference between Japanese and Chinese.

Looks like 乱交.com is a keeper for now barring any reasonable offers.

Figured someone here would desire a rare adult IDN that gets quality traffic, has much potential for development, and importantly growth!
