black/death metal has always been my favorite type of music. the drummers are just soooo fucking talented. i am sure that some of them do coke but then again, i am sure that many of them do not. i think it is more of a situation of just practicing and building up your speed and endurance. thx for the vid.

I used to play drums in a power violence grindcore band, we toured with Lamb of God and did shows with Black Metal bands. Blast beats have to be the hardest beat to pull off, so many drummers just use triggers.

I know this is gonna get me flamed in a black metal full thread, but I prefer drummers exhibiting talent more in tune with this...
Show me a drummer that can't learn to double tap, and play fast after a few months practice, I'll show you a lazy ass... Show me a drummer that can actually use his instrument as an instrument, not just a machine gun, and you've got some thing these days. Somewhere in the 80's fast replaced good... kinda sad imho...
