black/death metal has always been my favorite type of music. the drummers are just soooo fucking talented. i am sure that some of them do coke but then again, i am sure that many of them do not. i think it is more of a situation of just practicing and building up your speed and endurance. thx for the vid.

a double espresso would certainly produce the same effect. either way, shit rocks hard!

some of the newer stuff from Satyricon is a little more commercial friendly, but still really heavy

I love me some Steve Asheim, in a non-homo-sexual sort of way.

I used to play drums in a power violence grindcore band, we toured with Lamb of God and did shows with Black Metal bands. Blast beats have to be the hardest beat to pull off, so many drummers just use triggers.
