The original one who brought the rock and rap hybrid together has been slain. He was one of the coolest dudes I have ever met in my life and was so humble even as he sold over 50 million albums

I can remember rockin out to the peewee herman bop and listening to raising hell on my brothers oversized jukebox. He was heavily into the whole bboy culture and breakdancing so naturally he had the bad ass leather coat and shell toe adidas.

same here...I'm not much of a rap fan by any stretch, but I remember seeing them last year at Xtreme Radios' Big Concert...I was thinking "what the fuck, Run DMC at a metla festival?" yet the mosh pit was just as alive and the teen tittyflashing just as aggressive as for Fear Factor, Static X and Monster Magnet.....

Nah - they should just kill tossers like yourself who have nothing to say and not the brains or balls to understand or even tolerate other peoples cultures or tastes.

"For close to 20 years, Jam Master Jay, Run (Joseph Simmons) and DMC (Darryl McDaniels) have been touching the lives of multitudes of fans who include their peers and associates in the music industry."

Much more than some MTV bands can say.

I fucking love RUN DMC.

damn.

Agreed.

Did anybody else see their tour with the Beastie Boys? It was the summer between 7th and 8th grade for me. The parents were not real excited about letting me go but sometimes you just gotta say fuck it....so I went.

I remember that tour. They were here at the grand LA Memorial Coliseum with a sold out capacity of over 56 thousand people. Me and my brother with our shell toe adidas and leather jackets and dark shades rocked out to the beastie boys and run dmc. I believe it was the year 1985 and it was the Raising Hell Tour...*sigh*
