As a keyboardist and songwriter, Richard Wright helped create the pioneering psychedelic sound that made Pink Floyd one of the world's greatest groups.

since no one really mentioned it and i am a minority on this aspect of musicology of PF, but - in case any care - Wrights sound inspired atmopheric electronic music.

People who go to raves, and listen to stuff like The orb and other "chill electro" owe it all to Wright. Groups like Meat Beat Manifesto owe it all to Wright. Portions of Dark Side, inspired entire albums of atmospheric sond... including my own work.

Dark Side of The Moon is used every singe day as the single album to test audio set ups with, and will remain that.

Keyboardists and synthesizer players (of which I am part of) always get less recognition than the other members of the band, but know this - Pink Floyds sound would be very different without those synths.

Wright deserves a lot more than he ever got for his contribution, not only to the band, but to usic on a whole.

RIP brother.
