Question for APPLE TV owners. INSIDE PLEASE!

I've had mine for about 3 months. I fucking love it. However, why is this unit so freaking hot all the time? Do you think it's strickly because of the drive inside? There is no fan or anything. I'd like to see what the inside of it looks like but I'm surely not gonna rip it apart.

Does your set top apple tv unit always stay hot? Its not burning hot, just hot enough to make me wonder why its that hot.

Thanks.

FYI, this thing is probably one of the best things I ever got from anyone. I got it as a birthday gift and I love it.

Mine runs hot as fuck too. I thought that the PS3 ran hot, but the Apple TV seems like it's on fire. It's got that little insulated padding on the bottom, so I guess they're aware of the issue.

They have a lot crammed in there. If you do some searching there are plenty of tutorials and articles that have photos of people cracking them open. It's a fun little unit, but was pretty much worthless until we spent an afternoon getting it to play pretty much anything you can throw at it.

Anyone that has a PS3 or 360 already has a machine that does everything a stock AppleTV does.

Yah I really dig it. It has more movies than I'll ever watch. I like that when something hits DVD on a Tuesday, by say Friday its on Apple TV. I hate returning movies. The Trailers thing is really dope too. They have about every trailer for any movie in production, even the ones not on TV or advertised yet.

Pretty slick.

Thanks CF.

I love mine but am thinking I will quit using it. Easier to get a mac mini and attach my external drives to it, rather than sync everything over wireless. This way I can do more than just what the appletv does.

Was going to buy an Apple TV but my TV has an RGB input, so bought the Apple Mini and just use it instead with a wireless keyboard/mouse. This way I can do more than just watch movies. You can play a mean game of WoW on that sucker.
