The significance wasn't whether you vote with your party or not. That's not necessarily a bad thing. You don't seem to get that. I think most people understand it, even if you don't. The context is whether McCain will be "more of the same." Will McCain give us another 4 years just like the past 8 years? His voting record indicates he will. |
On the pinhead front, 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant. The sister of Britney says she is shocked. I bet.
Now most teens are pinheads in some ways. But here the blame falls primarily on the parents of the girl, who obviously have little control over her or even over Britney Spears. Look at the way she behaves. -Bill O'Reilly |

You know, I think I heard a different speech than everybody else did. I will admit that I listened to the speeches on the radio because it was over night my time and I listened in bed. So, perhaps something was lost by not watching her rather than just listening. However, I thought that even if you simply take away what she actually said the delivery was poor. Not only do I find her voice annoying over an extended period but it felt like a speech with very little flow to it. There were bits that felt like they weren't her natural words and she was instructed to put in.
Then, when it came to what she actually said, I heard nothing of substance and little apart from continually telling us McCain served his country (we know) and snide remarks that didn't do anything to make me think she was respectful of anybody when demanding her candidate be given respect. The very first thing in the speech put me off and that was talking so much about be 'a mom'. To me that is playing 'the woman' card and it loses me the same way that I got upset with Hillary for pulling out the tears and playing that 'woman card'. Plus, while your campaign if berating people for asking any questions about your ability to be a mom of so many kids and hold such a demanding job it is hard to keep up that line when you then use your kids as an electioneering tool. I agree that kids are off limits...so keep them out of your campaign. Especially, using a disabled baby for sympathy. You should be campaigning for the VP position as the best candidate regardless of gender rather than as "the mom". I find that an insulting ploy. All of that said, I went into listening to it wanting to find out something about her that I liked. I will not vote for McCain but I respect him, I though Rudy was leading a near lynch mob last night but you have to give it to him that he gave a good speech to the audience he was addressing. So, I wanted to come away thinking that I don't agree with her but it was a good speech. I ended up just thinking it was a mess of a speech. |
while her daughters pregnancy should be off limits in reality IT CANT why?? because her mother is on record as being AGAINST distribution of condoms, against abortions, against sex ed in school, and is for abstaining....
How do you clean the house of the united states when your own house is dirty?? and the fact she used her family in the speech over and over just OPENED a can of worms that everone will use to attack her... name one person running in any office that will say the hell with disabled kids or babies with down syndrom kill them all??? noone will.. everyone is for disability and unfortunate kids. dont use it as a tool to boost you on a pedistal while your putting your rival 6 feet under |

You are very very wrong about that. Sure its full of holes, lies, stretches of truth, etc... but its a fine speech. |

She also mentioned almost nothing about policy. |
