Sarah Palin is interesting , I like Mr. Guiliani's speech, and I think John McCain is an honorable fellow. But they aren't getting my vote only for those reasons. They'd have to show a lot more than what they've done on the RNC.

I think so too, the polls will temporarily at the very least get a boost for McCain after the convention. Give it two weeks and see where they are.

Seriously that was the best they could do? Republicans can phone this one in and still win. The polls in 2004 for the Dems showed them way ahead.

Only idiots Compare Palin to Obama.

I know people want to make that comparison.
Palin is not even an attorney and her work record is pathetic next to Obamas when seriously looked at. She is a total fucking noob. Obama is just unseasoned but his record proves he gets stuff done and his records proves that has created bills and passed bills. Palin has not made a single one and was never deep enough in politics to actually attempt it.

When she was crowned a beauty queen, Obama was in the Chicago Slums where very few politicans would dare go working in the community and engaging politics actively at the ground level and making changes.

OH and Palin talking about FOriegn policy is fucking insane she don't know a fucking thing about global politics. Totally clueless. Only guys that have many many many years of experience like BIden understand Global Politics.

Palin makes a mockery of a serious position talking out of her ass.

McCain's slogan is 'country first'. How is choosing Palin from the 100's of more qualified and experienced potential republican VP's putting the country first? It seems more to me like McCain was losing his conservative and evangelical base and the choice of Palin seems more to me like 'shit..my election, the bible belt and the NRA first'.

Please don't answer with the typical 'she's more qualified than Obama, etc etc' speech. That's not the question. I just want an answer on how McCain choosing Palin is putting his country first because I can't seem to answer it.

For the record, I'm an independent and voted for both parties on various state/national elections. I have not made up my mind who I'm voting for. Heck, I might not even vote..

mccain is fighting for the america majority which is white people with family values.

obama is fighting for black liberation ....................by fooling the small number of ignorant whites who are are deseperately looking for hope into voting for him.. he is trying to advance black people first by exploiting the desperate.

its all about which america you want to live in.

i would rather live in an america with strong family values and keep sin and alternative lifestyles in the backroom.

i dont believe in forcing filth down the throats of people who dont want it...

Perhaps we should explain this to the out-of-towners. This means McCain voted along party lines 90% of the time. It does not mean he "voted with Bush."

Now while that sounds like a lot, it actually shows the ability to cross the aisle and work with the other party. Take a Senator like Obama. He voted along party lines 97% of the time.

I found this interesting, especially coming from Michael Moore:

Hell, even the Democrat they asked on Fox was full of praise. The anchor said, "we put you on here to say something negative."

You fail.

I like Republicans to but.. The Philosophy is actually incorrect.
Smaller Government is a quasi agenda in to Republicans.

Not only that the larger a society is the more is required of a government system tp provide protections and support of infrastructure, and provide what the society needs as it grows in times of hardship. Such as food, Employment.

FOR EXAMPLE: Today in America we do not even have universal health coverage. Many countries of the world have a base of medical coverage to support its people that can not afford Medical coverage.

FOR EXAMPLE: A Peopkle of a nation needs jobs and needs to be protected from job loss, this is where the whole Country first slogan comes from which actually came from the Democrat side of this debate. COuntry first means protect our borders, country first means jobs for Americans country first are tons of things that are not related to the Repbublican agenda whats so ever.

Another thing you goto look at is the fact that the Republican party is the party of Business guys, the Democratic party is the party of Lawyers and attornies.

Now I do not know about you but I rather deal with an Attorney that makes rules with humanity and society in mind before the bottom line of a fucking business.

As of late it seems the Republicans have outsourced our job's millions of jobs to other countries. Why? TO meet the bottom line more money for the companies and less for the typical American worker. This typical American worker I am talking about works jobs accross the spectrum, from Computing to Steel working to farming, Jobs are gone and given to people not of our country.

For Republicans to claim country first is a total fucking joke.

Q: Is it true John McCain voted with George Bush 95 percent of the time?
The Obama campaign keeps claiming McCain has voted with President Bush 95 percent of the time. Is this true? Is this significant?

A: Yes, it's true, according to Congressional Quarterly's assessment of McCain's voting record.
Sen. Barack Obama has attempted to use the Arizona senator's voting record against him in statements like this:

Barack Obama (June 3): It's not change when John McCain decided to stand with George Bush 95 percent of the time, as he did in the Senate last year.

The claim is true. According to Congressional Quarterly's Voting Studies, in 2007 McCain voted in line with the president's position 95 percent of the time ? the highest percentage rate for McCain since Bush took office ? and voted in line with his party 90 percent of the time. However, McCain's support of President Bush's position has been as low as 77 percent (in 2005), and his support for his party's position has been as low as 67 percent (2001).

I really got no idea why people would even consider the Republican ticket after 8 years.

Personally, I have no love for MM, which is why I found it interesting that he said that. Of course, so did the Wall Street Journal among others. Further research says another report says 95%.

What this tells me is what my dad taught me long ago, you can prove anything with statistics.

Of course, I haven't found any rebuttal to the claim that Obama voted along party lines 97% of the time, and this is the guy that is talking about unity.

I've said it before. Yeah I am racist, everyone is and the worse kind of racists are the ones that can never admit it.

May that Ni66er lead us properly all the way to the promis land. I like Obama make no mistake about it. Now that I seen him more read about em separated the shit from the bullshit, the guy is an outstanding man and his VP pick is as well a sane and sober decision unlike Mccaines.

Obama and Biden are fucking solid people to run the show and as good as a politican can get. Sure I was bummed about Hillary but ya know she did vote for the war in Iraq, and she was politcally damaged goods. Obama was indeed the best choice.

I don't think it's the party line percentage that matters, it's the "more of the same" concept that is the important point in this line of thought. If McCain is 95% with Bush, will we get 4 more years of the same? That's not what we want is it?

I see, so what you're saying is that by picking Palin and her extremely conservative social views, that makes our country better, ie, country first? Ok, I can give you that, from a conservative family values perspective, I can see your point. But what about all the other issues of the country? How does Palin best serve those?

PornHero 09-03-2008 09:50 PM

My takeaway from these 2 conventions:

1. Republicans = war, pro-life, religious rednecks, a smaller government that says you're on your own

2. Democrats = diplomacy, pro-choice, multiculturism, a larger government that tries to help you out.

I prefer choice #2 :thumbsup
