Why would you EVER promote cams w/ PPS ?*Stats PIC*

Seriously, promoting cams is a whole different animal. A big PPS might look good at first but you will loose out big time. This guy started really pushing us in April.

If he was getting $100 pps, his check would be $5600, however the these customers will continue to spend money for months and years to come. Thats $3452.31 he would never see, plus the THOUSANDS these customers will earn for him in the future...

Do you display (customer) tracking? Because the omission of this is why some of us choose PPS with certain sponsors.

That has to be members area traffic or cancelled members mailing? 1:38.5 ratio, 430 sales with that level of spending wow. That is some quality traffic.

I wish it were that good of a ratio, I'd be sipping Mai Tai in Caribbean right now if that were the case. You cant count every "sale", there are only 56 customers, most made several re-buys in the same pay period - thats my point about promoting cams with revshare only.

The actual ratio is 1:294 .

I never did that well with revshare cams... Pretty much every sale I ever made bought the bare minimum credits and never rebought. Had I not started focussing on PPS I'd probably be down thousands over the last couple of years

Revshare is def the way to go, at least with VS, I remember our IWU stats over a few years, the average customer made us about $260 compared to sites offering PPS anywhere from $75-150. I think that's a good benchmark, since it was over years and thousands of customers

Not to mention your VS visor I grabbed in FL kept the sun out of my face on a hike through the jungle to some waterfalls yesterday (pics to come)

I used to run about half of my cams traffic to PPS and half to revshare and I never really got anywhere with revshare, so eventually I started dumping it all into PPS to get the higher per sale numbers. I guess I wasn't attracting 'whale' type traffic, becuase PPS always did much better. It was all SE traffic too.

To promote cams is a different thing indeed!!! The strategy much more depends on the kind of traffic you have.

There are two arguments you have to look at:
1. are you able to contact your traffic again ... so do you have their email addresses or do you run a community?
2. is it porn traffic or not?

1- yes + 2- yes
These users mostly do not come to the internet for the first time. They have visited many sites before. Probably you have many small fish and some nice big whales among them. The problem is, they already have accounts with many of the interesting webcam communities. So neither the revshare nor the PPS will bring you any results. But some webcam sites invented the perfect solution for this kind of traffic. Visitors over there, do not belong to one webmaster, but they only belong to them for a certain period of time. After that time, either the webcam company does not pay anything to the affiliate any more (which is good for the company but bad for the affiliate) or the visitor can be referred again by another affiliate. So every affiliate has a new chance on this big whale.
One of the biggest programs is this one. Even I don’t consider this procedure as really fair towards the affiliates, it is a fact and if your traffic comes from the category stated above, you will be able to send your traffic there again and again, because you know your visitors personally. This way you can make use of your big whales, which you cannot on other revshare sites as the whales are registered already with them. (If you agree with me, please use this ref link … even I only get something for a certain period of time.)

1- no + 2- yes
These users are the same as the ones above, you just don’t have any personal information about them. So you probably can only send them away once. If you use the same strategy as mentioned above, you get only paid for a few weeks and afterwards the company keeps all the profits and you won´t get a cent. And believe me the profits from the big whales can be enormous. That’s why the company above is so successful, because many webmaster don’t understand the principle. At the same time many of your users are registered with many of the other webcam communities as well. So you won´t neither earn revshare nor PPS from them. The solution is, to send them to rather new webcam communities like http://www.cupidocam.com . Even the visitors won´t find so much performers online there, they will want to try something new and find performers they did not find somewhere else. From past experiences I can tell you, if it is not that crowded, it´s much easier to fall in love with somebody. And that is what you want the whale to do, because than you will earn the big money. So send your anonymous traffic to this webcam community and earn big money with whales that have tried all other webcam sites and so won´t bring you money there.

1 – no + 2 no
This traffic is difficult to judge. One this is clear, you can only send it away once. So do not apply the first strategy. You need to test it yourself. First go for revshare programs like this one or even better this one. If you realize that the traffic does not bring many whales but only small fish, just switch the program to a PPS and earn much more money with that. But please do not expect to catch a whale in a week. You should give that try at least half a year.

1 - yes + 2- no
Here you can apply the same strategy as in the last group. But you have a second chance. First try a plain revshare program like http://www.cupidocam.com. If you realize that your traffic does not bring whales, you can use the same traffic / users and send them to another webcam community and use the PPS program there. You know you will not loose something as they are mostly small fishs but you still get the high PPS profit.

If you mainly have business traffic, you should try http://www.cupidocam.com as well, because we pay up to 30% for webmaster referrals.

Does anybody share my point of view? I am happy about any comments here or just contact me on ICQ.

And one last tip … be carefull with this webcam community advertising here with the name visi….. never send them big whales. Big whales only send to reliable sites.

Thanks for all those pearls of wisdom...I'm sure they'd go even better in your own thread

But I do agree that affiliates should send big whales to reliable sites...especially those that have been around the longest, and know how to treat their big customers best.

Why would you ever suggest that your affiliates take a % if you will make more money on PPS?

Just be up front about things. ;)

we stopped our PPS completely on cupidocam.com because we do not think it is fair!
only if everybody is happy we can succeed. so if our affiliates are happy we will be successfull ... and PPS in the end is not fair for webcams! ... only under the conditions i pointed out above

When I promoted cams hardcore I would have gone broke waiting on recurring cam money to come in. I used my PPS sales to expand quickly which worked out to being worth more in the end since it launched many things after.

There is plenty left over for us because of volume. We are in it for the long haul, not just month to month or year to year. Our affiliates are serious about a long term income stream. . Its been our business model for 12 (TWELVE) years.
