OMFG BMX Racing is an olympic sport? Camel racing next!?

Wtfffff.. This is just weird. They want to can baseball, but then have a bunch of kids racing.... BMX bikes? They don't even have gears!

Don't they have some retarded equestrian event too, where you just prance your horse around and make it look pretty? lolz

Why would having gears have shit to do with anything, hell gears make shit easier. Oh and they are not kids either lol.

I take this one a bit personally as I was heavy into BMX racing and some freestyle (half pipe etc) before I became paralyzed.

As for baseball I am all for canning that. Hell I think it could very well be the second most boring sport to watch just edging out curling and being beat by golf. Perhaps it would be more interesting if it was played in 3 inches of water. Mounds can remain as is.

At least you have to physically exert yourself. The day they introduce poker (which they ARE talking about) as a "sport", the Olympics will lose a lot of credibility.

Baseball should be gone. No pro-team is going to let them go.
Softball should be gone because nobody gives a flying fuck whats going to happen to future Wal-Mart employees with Olympic medals. Lets face it, nobody in the world pays that stupid sport.

BMX… hey, every fucking teen is in to it.. I say lets bring new blood .. I would rather see that than fat ass Frankenstein throwing tennis ball and talking shit in the camera.

What about that sport on the winter Olympics, where they hit that little hockey puck and have two guys in front of it brushing off the ice with brooms. That's gotta be the weirdest Olympic sport I've ever seen.

At least BMX bike racing takes a athlete in top shape.

See above "curling", the sport right under baseball.

Yeah maybe, just seems odd.. I see they have mountain bike crosscountry racing too, which seems more sensible to me.. But wouldn't like BMX halfpipe, or even trialing come before bmx racing? And obviously skateboarding would go hand in hand there.. not sure why they don't just have that whole component, it would get a lot of attention.

I love BMX bikes, just the first thing I see here on TV is racing them.. That's the last thing I think when I think BMX is all

Everything takes awhile to get approved. BMX started with racing and has always been racing. Freestyle etc is more along the lines of half pipes, pools, ground, and such. So you start with the purest form which is actual racing. Which by the way is the easiest to understand. Hell can you imagine going from nothing to trying to explain everything score wise in a half pipe competition. (x-games).

BMX is quick burst of speed with obstacles on a short closed track, well endurance plays one hell of factor as well.
