Yeah maybe, just seems odd.. I see they have mountain bike crosscountry racing too, which seems more sensible to me.. But wouldn't like BMX halfpipe, or even trialing come before bmx racing? Everything takes awhile to get approved. BMX started with racing and has always been racing. Freestyle etc is more along the lines of half pipes, pools, ground, and such. So you start with the purest form which is actual racing. Which by the way is the easiest to understand. Hell can you imagine going from nothing to trying to explain everything score wise in a half pipe competition. (x-games).
BMX is quick burst of speed with obstacles on a short closed track, well endurance plays one hell of factor as well.
