I have submitted your members videos to red tube and others, as well as put the pw on forums that auto grab your content from your member areas, then auto submit them to tubes. Should take less than 48 hours to have your entire site pirated, and at least 2 videos on Redtube.

Care that Choopa hosts them now?

Oh and I'm a threat? But hosting on Choopa - that hosts RedTube, that won't listen to your DCMA notices isn't a threat at all. You are "supporting" piracy, but giving the people that support it more money to host them.

All I'm doing is being a Webmaster, trying to make a dime, doing what I do to drive in traffic. I didn't read your terms, so I assume it's okay to promote on pirated sources since you host at Choopa, duh.

I went back and checked your terms, just to be safe, I hate doing work I don't get paid on.

First, you say what types of traffic you don't want, I won't send you newsgroup traffic then. Tubes/torrent pops should be fine? You also state "We do not accept any responsibility for your content." - Sweet, so you don't care it's on a pirated site.

See, I didn't make a threat, I'm just being a Webmaster following your rules.

Think of this, I'm supporting you - by pushing you, you earn more money, to pay the host, that supports piracy. So I'm with you on this man, all the way, to the death, like brothers!

Look TheDoc. Do whatever you think you must to hurt me for whatever reasons you think you must do that. I have already stated that I host with Choopa and did so back in Nov. of 2006. I didn't know about tubes at that time. I do now. It pisses me off. I have taken steps to stop tubes from stealing my shit. I now know what redtube is. Am I going to pull out right now? No! I'm in the middle of moving from the east coast to Vegas. No way am I going to start something like that. Not gonna happen. Why you want to come at me...again I don't know.

I guess you are going to teach me a lesson and force me to change hosting companies. So be it. I'm kinda old and slow though.

I don't want to sound like a hippie but "think globally, act locally" - even if it's in this narrow vertical of adult..... vote with your wallet as much as you feel comfortable with, whether it's with your host, sponsors or otherwise. There are basically less than 15 companies which host 90% of everything adult. Of these companies, adult content/clients make up 90% or more of their revenue. When I count the list of companies that I consider myself truly competing against for equivalent service I can do so on one hand.

Companies like ours that focus on adult are built for volumes of bandwidth. So, contrary to popular opinion there aren't 150,000 other hosts - not even a few hundred - that such large traffic sites *truly* have to choose from.

If you think "it doesn't matter" or "don't punish the host" well fuck, yes, that's how we effectively make no change on the status quo. That's like recommending not to ever vote because it won't make a diffference. Unfortunately, because so many people don't care or actually buy into that very little gets done.

If the short list of adult hosts who cater to adult stopped hosting tube sites with stolen content they would have few options on where to turn. Argue until you are blue in the face, I believe it's true. This problem is much simpler than everyone makes it out to be. It's not an infinite hosting world, not even close.

Another analogy... if I was elected in a farming community in rural Nebraska how well would I be serving my constituents (spelling) if I voted to eliminate farm subsidies? They put me in office, they pay my bills, they asked me to support their needs - I have no other diversity that I have been charged to serve.

No worries, I wouldn't submit your content to piracy networks. Not only because it's stealing or piracy, but because the amount of sales/traffic it would produce for you and not me. It wouldn't be worth my time to do it for a cut of the money, even more so when most of the traffic generated is type-in based.

I don't care that you host at Choopa, I don't care what you do with your business good or bad. I know that by hosting at Choopa you really aren't hurting this business, at all. But just because they spam me so damn much on ICQ, I feel it's a mission to get you to move, and if piracy will do that - then so be it

Not talking about blocking free traffic. I'm talking about affiliates who are SEO's or who are running adword campaigns, and you then are BUYING that traffic from them. (according to the GTS newsletter)

So you tell me, should I pay twice as much for my hosting just to satisfy Karup's morals?

It would be one thing if the host was directly doing someone in this biz harm.....but they're just hosting websites....sites they probably never even look at unless they're asked to in a support request.

The host in this case is just the person at whom the anger is directed because the owners of the sites themselves don't come around here.

There is still a huge difference in not working with a host vs not advertising with a company that owns 70% of the search marketplace. One is not going to effect your business, the other can destroy it.

As I said, if it effects your business dramatically, I don't blame you. I know for a fact that while CHOOPA's prices are nice, they aren't the only ones doing it. They aren't the only quality hosts out there. If you were forced to switch hosts one day, I really don't think your business' bottom line would be effected that much. But again, I would never expect someone to hurt their own livelihood over something like this.

And I've also never said you should satisfy anyone's morals. I'm saying that people have their own boundaries for what they will and will not tolerate. While you may not draw the line there, I'm sure there are things in this industry that you do. I have never been one to pull links over some of the drama on these boards, but I do draw the line at credit card fraud with sponsors.

No, I realized that I made a mistake by taking out my anger over tube sites out on a traffic broker, and I apologized for the mistake.
In that same vein I'm telling other people here that taking out their anger against tube sites on the companies that host them is equally pointless and not appropriate.
