Robbie, I don't get the hostility. Does everyone need to wear a nametag with their daily duties on it to be considered "in the industry"? The guy says he runs sites, I don't see what else you are looking for from him.

But to hell with it. If you say klaze is in the business, then I'll go with it too. Welcome to GFY klaze. I'd still like to know who you are and what you do. I pretty much can make money with anybody doing anything in this business. Maybe we can make a dollar or two as well. If I could I would reach out across the internet and virtually shake your hand. Good enough? |
Wow, I don't think I could have possibly imagined that a simple introductory/deal thread would have gone along this tangent.
I'll keep this to the point, because I don't want this to continue as it has been going. I did not come here to defend tubes or start drama with anyone, though it seems GFY has a particularly acute preponderance for such things. Additionally, anyone who knows me, or takes the time to do so will find that I am nothing that can be described as a 'sales idiot'. I am an honest person and employee of a company I believe to be led by a bright and intrepid team, whose products I am proud to sell. I won't lower myself by explicating here too much, but suffice to say - Choopa maintains a level of honesty and commitment to their clients that I cannot claim is shared among some other companies I know of. I understand the sensitivity of tubes, and the threat they pose to the profitability of paysites also, so my position is not to be mistaken for apathy or naivete - I choose not to take sides here. Finding out who hosts tubesites is not a difficult task, so my respect for the privacy of our clients should not impede your research as to who hosts who. Anyone who feels compelled to refuse to do business with any company that hosts or otherwise has a business relationship with a tubesite is of course free to do so. If anyone ever wants to ask me anything at all, please feel free to do so. There is no question I will shy away from, only excepting the respect of the privacy of our clientele. My contact info is in my sig, and is there to be used. I hope this helps make it clearer to those who don't already know me, that I'm forthcoming and professional. If not, then GFY. :) |

i cant speak for everyone here, but i can say that through my personal experiences that a lot of people that post here actually are in the business and in several cases, they make a decent living. Whether affilates or small program owners, some people here choose to keep a low profile. i used to attend every show in the US dating back to 2001/2002. if i posted my name here, a lot of people would say that they either know me or have met me. as far as i am concerned, my business is my business. in that past i have worked with a lot of the most well known companies in adult and have done well with some and not so well with others. when i do business with a company, i contact the owner, not affiliate reps. if i cant speak with the owner directly, i wont do business.. i have also spend 10's of thousands of dollars on content and services with quite a few people here and made a lot of money for several sponsors here over the years. what does all this mean? nothing. i am just stating a fact that not all the palyers in the adult business post regularly on gfy, attend trade shows, or feel the need to discuss what exactly what they do in this business. i agree that there are a lot of bullshitters and drama starters on gfy, but there are also a lot of good people here that take this business as serious as you do. why miss a business opportunity with someone just because you havent met them at a tradeshow? you can take this post for what its worth and formulate your own opinion, but if i were you i would settle down on the constant challenging of people just because they disagree with you or rub you the wrong way. this is a public forum and half the fun is weeding through the bullshit... these days i mostly come her to bust peoples balls and amuse myself, but if i need something business related, GFY is my first stop.... |
Hi Robbie, why all the hate and anger? Many of your posts are hostile and it seems your ego is sometimes out of control. E.g. in this thread you said that the owners of removeyourcontent.com are "your boys". Do you really own those people, or was it the pimphand acting up?
I am sure you are a nice person, when you are not under the influence of steroids. This drug is not as harmless as you think. Your aggressiveness proves it! Relax man, for the sake of everybody. http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showpo...74&postcount=8 Quote:
Chill down, don't let the steroids take control of you. :2 cents: |
Marketsmart I'm not talking about a tradeshow. I have no idea why that is in your mind at all. When I ask someone what they do...I want an answer. That's all. I get to "know" people by doing business and talking on the phone with them. If a person comes on here and starts spouting off like they are an expert on something then it catches my interest. At that point I want to know who this "expert" is and what they have done to qualify their opnion. And if they are for real I may want to do business. That's all. And if they don't have a clue in real life I like to hand them their ass and show everyone just how much that person's opinion doesn't count. Maybe you're right and it don't matter. But as I said, I'm pretty passionate about what I do.
And unless it was internext from 6 or 7 years ago you didn't meet Claudia-Marie. We stopped going in '02 up until internext '08 The only 2 internexts' that Claudia-Marie had attended before '07 was one in 2001 when we had her as our bartender in our suite party at the Venetian when we threw our Strictly Hosting party (before we sold it to National Net). And the only other one she attended was in '02 which was the year that Sleazy's TGP dinner did the helicopter rides around Vegas (remember, I'm from the TGP side of the business also) So it must of been some other big boob blonde lol |
Zypher that is the most stupidest and funniest shit. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh
Now go fuck yourself and your "important" people. And you're right I don't give a shit who you are. What you just posted shows me that. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh And yeah, calling removeyourcontent my boys was just an endearing term because they've been doing a good job. :pimp |
I am sure there is plenty of people on this board that you don't know Robbie. If you don't know them it doesn't mean they are surfers or some small time webmasters. I am sure that there are quite a few people on GFY that don't post a lot and don't have URLs in their sig, etc, but still made millions in this industry and have been working in this industry for many, many years. Maybe they just don't want everyone to know who they are.
Back on topic. I currently have 4 servers at Choopa and I have always been very happy with them and their support. I am actually thinking of moving more stuff there soon. |

I would do the same thing in real life if someone came up to you and started berating you about this business, I would ask them what qualifies them to do that. I NEVER said I had to "know" anybody. I HAVE said that I DO know a lot of people. And a lot of people I do not know. But I damn sure know OF a lot of people. Damn that confused me, and I just wrote it. LOL But I have never said that I had to meet people in person at a tradeshow. That is what others are putting in my mouth. I DO however, enjoy meeting people in the business at a show. Does that clear up any misconception? What I'd like to know is...why are people questioning me for asking someone who they are after that person comes in here and starts talking in definitive terms? Doesn't anybody else wonder who it is that they are talking to? And if not...then what is the point of the forum? Just for trolls? |
Quote:
If I may say though with you being a supporter of removeyourcontent as we are. As well as you being so outspoken on topics like tubes theft and shady practices does this reps choices and actions not offend you as a program owner? We seam to have gotten way off track that a company that was banned here for some time who is obviously a supporter of content thieves is looking for business here and your saying great job guys I host there does that not sound a bit off track for you? |
If Choopa is offering in a public forum tris deal:
First off, here are our current unmetered specials! Core2Duo E6750 / 4GB / 2x 300GB 15k SAS (raid-1) OR Xeon 3210 / 2GB / 2x 500GB SATA (raid-1) w/25mbps = $425/mo Why I am paying $500 for that bw but a very old server? I have been cliet for more than 4 years. If Choopa is going to overcharge cliets, don´t make it public, so I don´t feel so stupid... |
Charles, as I said in an earlier reply on here....Do I wish they did not host tube sites. YES. Do I have the right to tell them what or how to do business? No.
Can I choose to take my business elsewhere in a sense of moral outrage? Yes. When I first went to Choopa it was over a reccomendation from Clement at Deluxe Pass. I was also going through a (at the time) bitter business breakup with my ex-business partner. I needed to move my servers away quickly and quietly. Clement put a word in for me and David G. spoke with me, set me up, made it seamless and gave me the best deal I've ever had on hosting. Since that time, my business has grown and grown. Added boxes. Upgraded boxes. Upgraded bandwidth. And each time the guys at Choopa worked with my employees to make the transitions go smooth as silk. No downtime. Granted, a lot of that has to do with the fact that we have root on our box and I have the very best guy that used to work for us at Strictly Hosting still on my payroll. So I'm able to accomplish things that some others might have to rely on their host to do for them. But the guys at Choopa have treated me real well. I didn't even know or care about RedTube until I saw it being talked about here on GFY. Yes, it irks me that they are hosting it. No, I'm not going to go through the hell of moving all my sites to another hosting company over that. Let's see...if I did that, I'm looking at a possibly not so seamless transition (depending on the hosting company), NEVER being able to get the kind of deal I'm getting now with a 15 TB a month package, and possibly running into a situation where we are denied root. Since I HAVE taken steps to protect my stuff from tubes and torrents, that kind of move would be a horrible scenario. For instance, I'm running the Adobe Flash Server (which I bought and installed on my box to allow me to run my shit in encrypted streams to prevent the tubes from getting it), I'm running so many crons and automated scripts that do a thousand little things that I can't even remember them all. Can you imagine what moving would do to all of that? And Charles, the only people I have come off rough to are people who have disrespected me in some way...and yet don't even have the balls to say who they are or what they do. And "no"...you know I'm not asking them their "real" names. When I say "who are you", I'm thinking someone will reply: "I'm the guy that owns xxxxxxxx.com" Or "I run some TGP's" or "I work with X affiliate program" Or "I have a few blogs" or "I submit galleries" or just SOMETHING to do in this business. And I don't look down on anybody. I don't care if you are just starting out. Hell, I've helped countless people in the past who were just starting out and I linked them up. Now a few of them are "somebody". I know that shit pays off. Look back at the people I've been "rough" on. Everyone of them has been a person who has zero credentials. And everyone of them were running their dick-skinners at people that really are in this business...including one of your last posts where some keyboard warrior went off on you and I said something to him as well. Anyway, I hope you understand what I'm talking about and my position on hosting with Choopa. My bottom line is that they have always been there when we needed any support at any hour. And when there were things that had to be done in the NOC and couldn't be done remotely they were on top of it 100%. And if I told you the price I'm paying for 15 TB a month and the machines I have in the rack you would be shocked. Remember...I have one tech and one graphics guy. I do EVERYTHING else myself. I work my ass off on 3 TGP's with around 500 affiliate programs...PLUS I do all the work on the paysite: casting, writing, directing, filming, editing, rendering, uploading, building the site, doing support... Maybe if I had a staff of people and some inner need to spend more money and create headaches for my non-existent staff....then I would feel obligated to move all my shit to a more expensive and perhaps less responsive host. But as I said....I had no idea about what a tube site even was when I first went over to choopa in Nov. of 2006. To sidetrack my entire business (and God only knows the nightmare of NATS if I changed hosts) for any length of time...even a few days, would cost me a lot of money. |
Wow I'm not quoting that cause this page is long enough already :helpme
I said I get you and were youa re coming from. Second I was not saying you need to change just letting you know as somebody that has seen you post here for a long time and who in general enjoys reading your opinion on things as well as your help with the troll not long ago that even I can see how you come off a bit rough. On a side note I appreciate the new vocab word "dick-skinners" I never heard that one before. Also I can appreciate your desire not to move as it can be hard to find the right home. What I can tell you is from experience and many moves prior to my move to nat net 7 years ago things have changed a lot and getting the deal you need with the support that is necessary is not as hard as it used to be thanks to a handful of very qualified hosts. Nats, crons, root access, and any other issues you may have would not be as hard as you think to manage. Downtime sucks for anyone and in our business is a no no the few quality hosts left in this sector know that and can work around any issues as well as give you plenty of time to test the waters and make sure it works before going live. At the very least I appreciate your answer to my questions and your honesty also. To bad the rep in here cant admit what he is doing and the part he plays in it. |
Yeah "dick-skinners" is a good one LOL

After doing some research, Choopa is Deluxe Pass If you do some research you can find out all sorts of dirt on them.:2 cents: |

I know that Clement is one of the smartest guys I know. When I first met him at Internext back in 2000 or 01, he was only 21 years old or so. And I had already made over a million with him on Deluxe Pass then. I was kinda thinking:"Wow, I can't even imagine what I would do with the kind of money this kid is making at that age" I would have OD'ed on drugs and whores. But he was clean cut and pretty much straightedged and had so many great ideas it blew me away. |
Agreed, Clement is a stand up guy.

Because they sell to the people who sell to the people who steal from you....or in other words Choopa is really just a middleman between the tube site owners and the upstream providers, so do you boycott the bandwidth providers also? |

Hope that Costa takes the pill every morning and doesnt forget about the deals he makes with people... it could be a big nightmare if u wake up and see your servers disconnected.

I just read that blog too. Freaked me out.
But then I read further down on a blog from a few days later last April where the same guys says: "I usually don’t go backwards and double check myself but I was trying to explain how dangerous a site americanthumbs.com was to a friend but at the same time advising him not to go there even though it doesn’t look like k*ddie po**. Sleazy yes, Kid*** p**n no." After reading that and then realizing that I was on the blog of some nutcase with an anti-porn agenda I came away giving it not much credence. He had just made the huge accussation a few days earlier and then changed his tune. |

Wow... dude, I just backed up on that crazy motherfuckers' blog and did some searches. He has one post where he rants about how all CP is produced by big corporations in the U.S. He has another rant where he explodes on The Hun because he wanted to advertise on The Hun AND warn the Hun about all the CP being produced by the U.S. and the Hun didn't answer him back but instead made him fill out a form (a spam filter, but that dumbass didn't know what that is) and THEN he claimed that his computer was being attacked almost instantly after he filled out the "form" And he is convinced that the hun targeted him or something! LOL!
Charles you need to maybe do some more reading over there and possibly retract your earlier post bringing that nutcase into this. That was a HUGE accussation to make against a company. |
Just saw you alread did that Charles. :)
|
I also read that blog. Have to agree with Robbie on that one.
That anti-porn blog didn't sound too serious, and the guy doing his "investigation" could clearly not tell the difference between porn and CP. From my experience Clement is a standup guy. I don't know much about Choopa, so cannot comment on them. |
Zyber that guy is a fucking nutcase. He is exactly the kind of person that starts so much anti-porn sentiment. Jesus.
Fuck, after reading that shit...I'm sorry I was so short with you earlier. Damn. We need to stick together with crazy fucks like that out there. |

No reasonable host will deny you root access to your dedicated server. Depends on where you decided to move some hosts can GUARANTEE seamless transition. About the 15TB deal? I can name 3 hosts of top of my head who can beat the price you are getting... Quote:
yes I can, its pretty easy moving your crons and I'm a tech-dummy. It looks like you are trying to convince yourself why not to move....because you know whats the right thing to do and who are the right people to deal with.... |
No Oracle Porn. My servers are not "fully managed" We do that ourselves.
And yes, there are many hosts who do NOT give root because of network security issues And since you don't know what I have running it's a bit of a stretch for you to say it's "easy" when I know what we went through on our last move with my guy who has been doing what he's doing since 1990. He's good. And it was still a lot of headaches. Especially finding some of those little things that kinda hide from you. Nothing funner than trying to figure out something and then digging and digging and wasting time until you find some little cron that's doing a duplicate job and overwriting another one. lol And I am a big boy and don't need anybody to tell me the "right thing to do". I can handle things on my own. Oh, and almost forgot...I never said what price I'm getting so you can't really say that you know some hosting companies that can beat the price. |

Also it doesn't really matter what you went thru in your last move, I dunno where you moved from and who moved you, but there are techs who can do a flawless transfer, its really sad you can't believe that. and I'm sure you know whats the right thing to do...its always hard to make the first step heh :winkwink: |

Do you call them out on the boards for defending Max Hardcore or Cumonherface or Red Rose? It's cool to be pissed at the tube site owners....I totally get that....but isn't it a little ridiculous to be out here bitching at people that are one, or two, or three steps removed from the people doing you harm? Is Choopa supposed to call you ahead of time and ask if it's ok to host someone to avoid being burned in effigy? ISP's by definition are not supposed to be content police or anything else. They have to respond to DMCA requests of course....but if they start denying service to people based on them supposedly stealing your content then it's possible they could lose all protections of the safe harbor provision of the DMCA. It's like being pissed off at the phone company for providing service to the person making obscene phone calls or being pissed at the electric company for providing power to the person who hacked into your network. Get a grip. |
