You remind me of a situation with my uncle. When he was living in Sydney, he was attacked by 4 men after picking up his pay from work, and stabbed 12 times. He ran through one of the most frequented malls in Sydney and not one person stopped to help him until he got right to the other end. A woman driving past saw him, stopped and saw to him (she was a nurse), called an ambulance, and did what she could to help him in the mean time.
