1. I have 5 kids
2. I started shooting in NRA tournaments at 13 and got my varsity letter on my high school rifleteam
3. I have OCDs and my number is 3. I have to jiggle keys in locks 3 times, have to chew 3 times when putting food in my mouth and even have to go over O's and A's 3 times when writing)
4. My oldest son has selective mutism and I'm about 70% completed with a book I'm writing about living with a selectively mute child)
5. I didn't drive for almost 18 years after a car wreck that took the life of a fellow passenger.
6. My mother was pregnant with me when she attended Woodstock
7. I recently got to bang a chick at my 20th high school reunion that wanted nothing to do with me when we were in highschool
8. I love bad movies and am an avid collector of them.
9. I'm an extreme movie geek. When I eventually retire and/or have enough movie live off without "working", I want to become a film historian.
10. I was in a band called The Corpse Phuckers and we tried to book a club that wouldn't let us put the name on the marquee, so we changed our name to Bloody Warpigs From Hell and eventually shortened it to Bloody Warpigs. We had that name for almost a year before changing musical direction and changing the name to Innocent Rage (we went from harsh speed punk to more standard Priest/Maiden metal)

1. I've had more jobs than most of you here, and some of them have been pretty strange. I was a bartender, a gas station manager, a cop, a magician, a factory worker, a radio DJ, a mobile DJ, and a pro wrestler all before I turned 26. Since then (8 years) I haven't had a real job.

2. Still in the wrestling business, but now as a manager and sometimes booker.

3. Sometimes wear my old wrestling hood (mask) out in public, just to see what kind of reaction I get.

4. My Dad was the mayor of the town we lived in.

5. I'm a decent designer, but don't like my own work most of the time, so I outsource the designs for my own sites.

6. Rarely design for anyone else anymore either, because I have horrible panic attacks, which are aggravated by deadlines.

7. I have the greatest girlfriend in the world who understands me and lets me be myself, no matter how fucked up I get sometimes.

8. Got into adult totally by accident. I was a surfer who was looking for pics of Airka Ames. I did a search, and found where she was posting on here. Read some of the posts about this "new thing" called "blogging" that was going to "revolutionize" the adult industry and decided to give it a try.

9. Have been an avid comic and toy collector since I was 4 years old, but don't have many old comics or toys. Every few years I get bored, sell everything, and start over.

10. Am tired as hell right now, because I've been up for 35 hours straight...wooohooo!

I would be really interested in reading this. When's it going to be finished? I have a nephew (13 years old) who has this, and it's something that all of us are still struggling to understand.

I'm hoping by the end of the year...
I've been going through old school files, diaries we've kept, etc. and keep finding more stuff.
My son just turned 13 and is showing a lot of signs of improvement...he'll order his own food in a restaurant now and will talk in a normal voice to me amongst twice-known "strangers' (he has to meet them at least twice, then he'll talk in a normal voice to me, sometimes he'll reply to them, but has to look at me to talk)

he also auditioned for his first band and while he didn't get the gig, I was proud and amazed he got there and tried his best

That's different. I've never heard of selective mutism.

Does he operate normally other than that?

nah, it starts extremely early and is often dismissed as shyness...
that's all we thought it was when he was younger.
It's an anxiety disorder similar to stagefright.
It was really tough early because there wasn't as much information as there is now. The signs are also sometimes taken as signs of abuse, so we had to do a lot of educating of teachers, school officials, CPS, etc.

At home, we was a normal, happy, kid who played with his friends and had fun. As soon as he stepped on a school bus, he didn't say a word until he got off the bus at the end of the day. He's 13 and still doesn't talk in school. We have developed workarounds like him reading into a tape recorder at home for reading lessons and sign language. It's heartbreaking to see this kid who is happy and energetic shut down in social situations..to the point where you can see he wants to talk but just can't.

Selectively mute children are also usually extremely observant. They might not talk, but they watch and listen to everything you say. We had to be very careful to be very precise talking to him as a child (he's better now that he's older) so he didn't think we were lying to him if we were just discussing something and he thought we were going to actually do it.

At a young age, we thought he was reading Green Eggs and Ham really really young, but it turns out, he had just memorized the book from us reading it to him.

Well I don't know a whole lot about it except for through my nephew. In his case, yes, he chooses when and with whom he will speak. He still wasn't talking by the age of 4, and had been taken to multiple doctors... until one day my sister (his mom) happened to overhear him while he was playing in his room alone, talking like a normal 4 year old. He just wouldn't talk to anybody or when anybody was around. And the whole time they had thought he was mute.

He has made a lot of improvement over the years, but still to this day, he won't speak a word in school (not even to his teacher... he writes notes to them as his communication) or when anybody he doesn't know is around him. If absolutely necessary, he will whisper in somebody's ear. He won't even talk at a family gathering if my grandparents are in the room, even though they've been part of his life since he was born.

But get him in a room with somebody he likes and is totally comfortable with... he doesn't shut up. He's actually really intelligent and has a great sense of humor, so it's a shame that some other peole in his life don't get a chance to see that side of him.

It's a little different than autism since a lot of their mute time is in strange places or places where they feel uncomfortable. It's an anxiety disorder.

He will play with his friends outside just fine. Yet won't talk to those same friends in a school situation...

AVNSherri 08-01-2008 06:39 PM

Here goes ...

1. I graduated from Youngstown State University in Ohio, which is the only college or university in the country to have a penguin as a mascot.

2. I was born in Huntington, WV, and my dad was a student at Marshall University when the football team's plane went down in 1970. He was supposed to pick up one of the players who lived next door. (Watch "We Are Marshall, great movie.)

3. I've had one tattoo for the past 18 years, but I still think about getting a second.

4. I worked in mainstream newspapers for 17 years before coming to work at AVN last year.

5. When I worked at the college newspaper at YSU, I actually said my dream job would be working at AVN.

6. I now have three dogs and two cats ... I had to put my 16 1/2-year-old keeshond mix down in June and it almost killed me. I still cry about her.

7. I was born on Valentine's Day and I have a brother who was born on Christmas Day.

8. Not a week goes by that someone, somewhere doesn't sing either "Sherry Baby" or "Oh, Sherrie" to me.

9. I once stole a plate that Franco Harris (one of the all-time greatest Pittsburgh Steelers football players) ate from. Go Stillers!

10. I have an uncanny ability to retain the most useless trivia.

Bonus: I have an odd fascination with serial killers, and even own a piece of brick from the house where Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson Family.

I worded exactly like it is... maybe you should take it in a little differently...

We formed our own phone sex business.

She is/was the talent. I made the sites.

She is now the backbone of that company and I maintain the web portion when I need to and take care of and form my own stuff.

We have 10 other girls across the country working for us and are always looking for more honest, dedicated women to join the team.

MediaGuy 08-01-2008 07:06 PM

5) I did one of the last interviews with Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, for a Banjo magazine called "Banjo Newsletter" (the interview was subsequently syndicated and appeared in a High Times issue too).

6) I have two awesome beautiful daughters.

7) I have a sock fetish.

8) I saw Star Wars about 40 times in the two years after it came out, in French and English.

EroticistFilms 08-01-2008 10:43 PM

1) When I was 11 and 12, I had a fully developed 16 year old smoking hot-as-hell Italian girlfriend who would sleep over with me almost every weekend. How could that be possible you ask? Well, at birth there was a terrible accident resulting in oxygen being cut off to her brain thus leaving her with the mentality of a 9 year old.

2) When I directed my first film, Alternative Worldz: Atlanta, I had NEVER directed a movie before. I had NO prior movie making experience, had never been on a set, had never seen people outside of myself (and a girl if I was REALLY lucky) having sex. In fact, I had no fucking idea what was going on! When I ran out of money, my good friend put me up in her Bordello for 6 months.

3) I grew up in a trailer park in Wilson, NC which is both the Tobacco capital of the world and the poor white trash capital of North Carolina!

4) I only got drunk once, but it lasted for 17 years. I went to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but I've forgotten virtually EVERYTHING I ever learned. If my writing is grammatically incorrect OR incoherent, now you know why.

5) At 6, I had my first crush on Jeannie from "I Dream of Jeannie". As drunken adults would re-enact scenes from Roadhouse, I would pull the covers over my eyes and pretend I was safe with Jeannie in her phat-assed plush bottle. Then I would drift off to sleep as I pretended I was nestling my head on those phat-assed breasts. Sometimes I still do that, but now without the drunk adults, I own the redecorated bottle and Lacie Heart is Jeannie
I've been planning a movie based on this, but you can only imagine the tears that ran down my chubby cheeks when I discovered that my movie title had already been used!
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ilms/Lacie.jpg

6) I try to get EVERY girl I ever work with to have a real on screen big-assed orgasm. This can be witnessed in Atomic Vixens: Escape from the Valley of the Sluts as Justine Joli and Marie Luv launch off some pretty impressive O's. Hailey Young erupting some love lava is also a site to behold!
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...s/371_7122.jpg
7) I am a "vegeterrorist? and have been meat free for over 12 years.

8) I have never been arrested, but I have been detained.

9) I have bedded 2 Governor's daughters as well as the daughter of a very famous celebrity.

10) I am a very happy person and very rarely get bummed out by anything. :smokin

kmanrox 08-02-2008 11:53 AM

lolz never heard the term vegeterrorist

I could probably come up with two lists. One of things I am not afraid to share, and the other of things that are better left unknown by the general public.

Meloman 08-02-2008 01:42 PM

Ok I'll bite

1. Italian was my first language and I still speak it fluently.
2. I was an alter boy and went to Catholic school from 3rd grade - High School.
3. My dad died of lung cancer when I was 6 which kept me from ever taking up smoking (cigarettes :winkwink:). My rule is if i'm gonna smoke something it better be green and put a smile on my face :winkwink:
4. Every job i've had lasted for many years where I was always a top employee. Telemarketing from 16-18. Assistant Manager in a video game store from 18-23. Then Internet from 23-present. So this is only the 3rd job I've eve had.
5. I also got into this biz because of the "IEG guy". In college while taking an economics course we had to read The Wall Street Journal. After reading Seths name for the 3rd time and reading that he was a porn millionaire by 23 it made me want to try the same thing. This was back in 1997-98
6. Star Wars are my all time favorite movies. I have a bunch of collectibles too. Return of the Jedi was the 2nd movie I ever saw in a theater (7 yrs old) and have been hooked ever since.
7. I just hit my 10 year anniversary in the biz last month.
8. My favorite food is pasta and I normally NEVER order it in restaurants cause it sucks compared to homemade. I can taste the difference too easily.
9. I'm first generation American in my family. Mom/Dad were from Italy. I'm first to finish High School & go to college too (all though i never finished my degree).
10. I still drive the same truck I bought before getting in this biz. I've instead invested in property.

Hrm, this will be hard trying to come up with ten that people don't already know...

1) I was once an Altar boy and got kicked out for taking a sip of the wine when bringing it up to the priest

2) My name and an embarrassing photo (handcuffed to a shower pole, with a bra on and flower in mouth) somehow made it's way onto WWE.com as 'Ho Train Conductor of the Week' (Godfather's old gimmick). The person who discovered it was my boss at a mainstream job at the time, who called me in one day and turned his monitor around and said 'what the hell is this?' :1orglaugh

3) I love animals much more than people/humanity.

4) I was once a part-time stunt cock with Wildrose Productions under the name 'Kid Cock' (was due to the fact that day Kid Rock was the only cd the DJ brought in on my first day so it was on repeat the whole session heh).

5) My friend and I managed to party with Queens of the Stone Age in their trailer for about 45 mins once at Lollapalooza before they realized they didn't know us and kicked our asses off.

6) Even in the later 90s, my only connection to the internet was by hacking BBSes for shell access, and using Lynx as well as unregistered IRC doors that kicked me out every ten minutes. From my 386 :)

7) No one in my family I know of ever had red hair of any kind. My beard grows red though. Strange.

8) Except for maybe once or twice, I haven't worn underwear or boxers in around 5-6 years now. Not that you wanted to know that :upsidedow

9) I was in bowling when I was younger for about 5 years. My average at the time I got kicked out was 217. The reason I got kicked out is I played in a night-time adult league but was only 17, and you are not allowed to play for money until you are 18. Lame.

10) I lived in our Montreal office for a year and a half. I showered out of a pipe in a closet and somehow still managed to often wake up late for work.

You can find plenty more 'interesting' items though I think in my Ambush Interview from awhile back.

kmanrox 08-03-2008 06:38 AM

5) Then I came second place in a bodybuilding competion.
6) I have a steel pin in my right shoulder.
7) I secretly want to be a porn star.
8) I want to marry a porn star.
9) From the time I was 21 until I was 29, I had sex 0 times.
10) I want www.bodydot.com to be a huge success, but don't really know the right direction to take it to make it happen.

I'll give it a stab. The people who know me best often say I'm the weirdest person they know, but I seem to have a hard time coming up with much out of the ordinary when I think of me :)

1. I once died in my sleep in an elevator accident and have been terrified of elevators ever since.
2. I am the only female in my family who has never attended college, but still the only one who has ever had a real job.
3. I rescue insects on a daily basis. I even going so far as to "unstick" their wings after pulling them from the pool, or painstakingly pluck the spider webs wrapped around their little bodies, using needle-nose tweezers and a thumb tac.
4. I can't cook to save my life... not even something as simple as pancakes.
5. I'm addicted to plucking. It's like a form of meditation to me. Sometimes I even let my leg hairs grow out just so I can pluck them out one by one.
6. I was a twin. Unfortunately, my other half didn't make it to full term.
7. I refuse to eat any animal that even remotely resembles it's being while it was still alive (ie: shrimp, lobster, whole chickens, etc.)
8. I sometimes predict things in my dreams that end up happening in real life. (Thus the reason for my fear of elevators since my dream.)
9. I'm often accused of having OCD because of my closet. I'm far from organized in my everyday life, but every piece of clothing in my closet is categorized by type (ie: tanktop, short-sleeve, long-sleeve, button-up, high collar, etc) and each category is then arranged by color - light to dark, pattern type and fabric type. Even as a child, I could tell when one of my sisters had been snooping through my closet if one shirt was out of place.
10. When I die, I plan to be made into jerky and served to the attendants of my wake.

it's true. you are strange, but i think you revel in it.

You are one of the few people who has ever mentioned Gein to me ... most people have no idea who he is. It's funny when people look at the movies I own and they are about all these guys. They get a little freaked out and start looking at me odd. When I fly I tend to bring along books about serial killers, which really helps cut down on the people sitting next to me trying to start up some banal chit chat.
