Yes..The day of the standard affiliate rep is coming to an end. The people who have maintained their positions as solid reps, will round out their skills and become more of an asset as a whole to the company in question. Almost every great business has a strong foundation spread out by a few select, productive individuals. Adult is no different.

I always wonder why reps don't know how to build their own traffic, make sales and be true students of the business. That's shound be a pre-req first and foremost. You wouldn't send a Mcdonalds fly flinger to Spago as a chef without training, would you? WHy should this business be any different.

There are also many other things that are happening within the business which may shake some things up soon for everybody involved in this business. This business is forever evolving.

Why don't you understand guys?

They are support reps, not sales reps ... they do not and cannot help you to increase your traffic, payouts etc.
As everyone said, why would they do a 8 to 5 job if they could make money on their own?

They are just support reps, to answer your questions regarding payouts etc.

Anyone can post a single example where a sales rep actually helped him to increase traffic? Or provided valuable tips etc.? I personally never had one.

Yeah, and if anybody ever actually tells you how to do YOUR job (making sales) then maybe it's you who are the problem. We should know our own traffic. Right?

What he said ... except I do this strictly part time and for part time expectations, do considerably well. But would love to get access to see what galleries and whatnot are converting and what the traffic streams look like coming into a program.

Now thats what I really want to see...

It's not their job to help you increase traffic. I frequently get good tips from a few reps who I talk to on ICQ and Skype. It's usually tips like "I see you have sent X hits to whatever site. With your traffic, I think you would make more with this site" and they are usually right.

I have also had my payout raised a few times when I stopped sending traffic to a particular sponsor. I have gotten first shot at exclusive content, had promo materials made just for me and always get some cool schwag at Christmas or just out of the blue. A good rep is priceless.

Maybe but giving someone sallary from 2k to 4k monthly just for giving support about payouts and program issue it simply toomuch.Unless is very very big program with tons of active affiliates.

A prerequisite for being an affiliate rep should be real experience in the business as well as operating their own websites.

That's a catch-22 though. If they had the knowledge to make their sites a success they wouldn't need to be an affiliate rep. Unfortunately, no program would ever pay what someone who knows their shit would demand for their expertise.
Heheh good one ;) Now for the record: I´m a female webmaster, I have done pretty much everything on the affiliate side: traffic trading, gallery building + submission, free site building + submission, blog setting up and posting, paysites reviews, ad buying and selling, some seo, script installation, speak 3 languages fluently, worked in sales as a sales account executive for the telecom industry for 10 years, so if you want or ever need an affiliate rep or sales and you can afford me, just reach out for me I love sales and support. In the meantime I am running my sites and doing biz as usual.

They already have a webmaster area, hosted everything, and basically hold your hand. Back the clock up to the "good old days" that you hear everybody talking about...say late 1990's. They gave you NOTHING. We had to buy content. Build galleries. Host them ourselves and drive traffic too. Oh yeah...they gave us banners.

I'm just wondering what the complaint now is. And what more do you want from an affiliate rep. And if you happen to be one of our affiliates at SOLO SLUT CASH what more you might need from us.

Well they are needed to post on boards and buy other affiliate reps beers at broshows .
Think of it like in the past programs traded joins via exits. Now affliate reps trade beers and broshows

They don't buy beers. LOL! Have you ever been to a show? I can tell you when I go to a show it's a lot different than the scenarios that I see created about "broventions" That shit is funny but it ain't true. I rarely see affiliate reps anyway. Most times I'm hanging with either the owner of the program or the man that runs the entire show on a day to day basis.

Either way, it's not standing at some bar having a beer bought for someone and then that person follows them blindy loyal ever after. It's funny, but quite frankly insulting.

If you do go to shows...then look for me. And then hang with me. I'll show you how to get things done. No beers bought for anyone.

i work an average of about 10 hours a day and often 7 days a week both from in the office and at home, just so i can be available to help out webmasters when they have a problem. Subtract that time from the amount of time you spend building sites and traffic and see how much time you have left to get some sales.

It's amazing how rude and ignorant some of you can be about things like this. Just because we can't help you double your payouts over night doesn't make us stupid or useless. We are hard working like anyone else and taking shots at our work isn't called for and doesn't help anyone.

My suggestion is that you spend this time working on your own sales strategies instead.

I think I may be the only idiot to ever be thrown out of a casino/whorehouse in Costa Rica because of Claudia's tits being too big. LOL!

And I guess if you buy someone a beer you're instantly a "bro" (and remember that's a bad thing).

Hmmmm....I was in Las Vegas last week looking at a house. And after I had made my decision the realtor took me to Gallaghers Steak House at New York New York and bought me a very expensive steak and many drinks while I signed all the paperwork. Does that make her a "bro"?

Also, I bought a Corvette for CM and a Solstice for one of my kids at a local Chevy dealership. The guy who sold me both cars took me to a titty bar afterwards and bought drinks and dances. Is he a "bro"?

And my latest "bro" experience...Just did a little 180k deal at the bank on Tuesday. The attorney who came in to have me sign the paperwork is taking me out on Friday night to a new club and is paying for the whole night. Guess he's a "bro"

Damn...I guess some people on here don't know how the world works outside of porn. EVERYBODY shows their appreciation for good business in EVERY field.

That is true, when I worked for telecom companies and had several good clients accounts to manage, I would send them gifts for their bdays, Xmas, I would make courtesy visits to make sure everything was ok and would go for lunch, etc ( and I´m a female ) my co workers would take them to strip clubs and such

Didn't you know most sales reps are hired only because they are cheap labor to start out with make more sense as a tax right off for the company? Most sles reps are 100% useless, fuck most can not even make banners and most hardly even understand the systems in place in not only traffic but even how the fucking affiliate program works.

Literally 90% of them got shit for braines.
One thing they can be credited though is for stealing credit from working webmasters. They tend to be schiester's and the biggest ass kisser's in the office.

When ever the boss needs a good ego stroke he call's in a sales rep to suck some ass.

OH and Sales Rep's are the ones programs send to Vegas for Parties. So basically all they do is drink alot, look like idiots and pose in front of camara's for FUBAR at the shows.

PS: Most tend to be dead beats also, they will come in drink up everyones shit then leave talking shit about how what they are supposedly selling is better for some drunken reason.

When the show is over they go back to the office kiss massive ass to the boss and pretend like they made a ton of contacts acting all busy and they will be lucky if even 1 new contact they made actually does any business.

Well The only shit a good program needs is simple.

A programmer, Designer and Program operator or rather the owner as the only needed elements, hosting and network support is relatively plug and play now..

Larger operations would possibly require the help of a good accountant.

Keep in mind some larger programs have a derth of structures under it such as mail programs, PPV sites which in some cases may need additional designer or Programmer.

SO If you own a program fire everyone except the designers and the programmers. If you have a full time accountant pitch the bitch and have her come in 1 day week or 2 days a week.

By doing this you will find your company more efficient, faster and definatly more profitable by default by terminating the poser's and morons from your company...

I've always thought skills come first, bringing something to the table for a program to use you as an employee. Being sales and support is secondary and is incentive to post on boards during your free time to earn off those you recruit and help on the clock.
