What e-mail SPAM protection do you use ??

Grrrrr... I'm getting a few 1000 spam e-mails a day to my junk folder in 2007 Outlook..

What do you guys use to stop this BS?? I have heard good things about spam arrest.. What else is out there ?? I'm also not seeing alot of e-mails from clients that get trapped in the spam(junk) folder.... What is the best e-mail spam protector, and why ??? Thanks

If you enabled POP you wouldn't need to.

We use lastspam.

But i think the best protection is your own brains and a good local email client filtering system.

Thunderbird's spam filters ROCK. It has very very few false positives. It was made by the firefox guys - that about says it all on how well it works.

hotmail has a great spam filter and my isp uses them now for serving emails so i get maybe 1 spam email in my inbox per month and a couple per week in the spam box.

Why on earth you would stick your email in sig like that? don't you know the way spammers work?

Use these tools to make image of your email address, and keep in sig, if you must.

http://services.nexodyne.com/email/index_custom.php
http://safemail.justlikeed.net/

Otherwise, best way, IMO, is setting up a contact form and linking to it from your signature. I get only 1 spam mail per week to my email address in sig.

Really? More power to you, but my hotmail account has the worst spam filter ever. Gmail is great, but hotmail flags so many real emails as spam, and spam as real. It's the worst (for me) between yahoo, gmail, and hotmail.

I check my spam folder pretty often and if there's something that's not spam flagged as spam, I unflag it and their filter adapts. I VERY RARELY get wrongly filtered emails. It works great for me.

Of course if you don't train the filter, it will make some errors from time to time because an algorithm can only be so intelligent.

I set up all my different pop emails to cc my gmail account so I rarely even keep thunderbird or outlook open anymore, plus it's great if you work off multiple machines. Gmail's search feature is also the best I have found, type in your keyword and it gives you instant results. Lately I have started gmailing myself notes and documents that I can easily pull up whenever I need them anywhere in the world on any computer.

Thanks, I did read the whole post.

Outlook supports IMAP.

Why would anyone use POP3 when they could use IMAP?

Indeed, you've lost a couple of important messages. I sent a few people to you and they never received a response. They ended up using a company in Europe. BTW, try MailWasher Pro.
