triple monitors - how?

I have an 8800GTX or GTS or something video card with 2 dvi outputs an 1 hdmi output. I've been googling for a while and I can't find any answer.

Is it possible to hook up 3 monitors to this one card? I have 2 hooked up right now with the 2 dvi plugs, but if i hook up another screen to the hdmi output will it act as a third monitor?

right now i can only surround myself with about 3 feet worth of naked girls. If I add a 24 inch in between that brings me up to a good almost 4.5 ft of horizontal girl-space in front of me.

Also, it would be nice when coding to have ftp on one screen, editor on another and website on the 3rd.

Thats what I thought of too, BUT...

1) Can't do SLI, mobo does not support it.
2) Can't buy new video card, just spent $400 on one
3) Can't buy new mboard with onboard or with sli since my raid array running my OS is on the mobo's onboard controller.
4) Where would i find a 5+ yr old pci card that will run under vista 64?

You need a second video card. It doesn't have to be the same one you have now, but it should be the same brand. You don't need SLI, that is to use the resources of two cards on ONE monitor.

I have an 8600 with two DVIs for my two side monitors and an 8800 for my main monitor. Works nice. The 8600 sillent was only $100. It was the cheapest card I could find with two DVI ports.

As far as I know, that video card (i looked at something close to it) only allows two video out sources at one time. so 1 dvi and 1 hdmi or 2 dvi.

what you could use is something like Matrox DualHead2Go. I have the dvi version and basically allows you to plug into one DVI port and make that into 2 DVI outs. it really just makes one really long screen, but I have some app in teh background that splits the screens up.

I have two video cards on my PC, and used two Matrox dualhead2gos running 4 monitors (4 22"s). honestly, it was pretty sick but you can tell there was a HUGE drag in the video. if i was only using text or doign simple stuff, it was fine but anything more than that looked like crap. right now im back to two 22" but considering using the second video out (dvi) on the other card to hook up three
