So how do these sites use pictures from around the net? Can you just randomly pull pictures from places and use them on sites like this or is there a place you need to buy the pictures?

It does happen, not that often though. If you take a picture from some blog of off let's say Jennifer Lopez on the beach and put on your blog without copying other peoples text etc very little is going to happen. If you rip One Night In Paris and put on your paysite XPays is gonna rape ya
