Skype works well on low bandwidth for me. My vonage line seems to have more problem than it.

Those aren't true VoIP providers. Not sure if you are looking for just a basic phone or your own VoIP gateway.
Skype, Vonage, Earthlink etc are like the AOL of ISP's. I go through Teliax. Works great with Asterisk. ...once you can get Asterisk up and running. lol |

A true VoIP gateway let's you set the caller id as well. Great for having fun with people. lol
