Big Pissing contest - What paysite keeps a customer the longest?

There's been a big pissing contest on GFY as of late in reference to what paysites have the longest average retension rates.

Ok, so to lay down some rules
trials don't count - count only the stats from when a full membership is paid. What is your average retension rate - meaning how many times can you rebill the AVERAGE surfer that buys a FULL membership to your site before they cancel their account.

lets see what you got...........

You need to consider the price of the membership as well.

A site that charges $7.95 a month will probably retain longer than a site that charges $49.99 a month.

You are correct, there hasn't been a thread on this topic in a very long time. Also with the new Visa crap, all the retention stats are going to change Drastically in the upcoming months.

no thread in particular - just posts now and then about retension. You hint at it all the time if not directly, it is implied.

I've worked with sites that do 4-5 months average per member.

This is an average number..

example: take 10,000 for yearly signups -> yearly recurrings 40,000

Hands-down, one of the single best retaining sites on the net (gay) is http://www.tylersroom.net

I have been getting about 75% recurring with http://www.tatgirls.com using only TGP traffic.

But I would agree with Shemp and Reshift and say that my longest recurring member sales of all time have to be to http://blacksonblondes.com/

BOB doesn't sell that well for me anymore, but every month I am making money on recurring memberships I sold 1-2 years ago.

Once thing I've noticed in TGP traffic is that sites without trials seem to have longer retention IMHO.

this is the average retention ratio in the industry.... altought we have some beast members still billed by IBILL ( we donīt use them for more than a year now).....

we have some members that joined our sites using IBILL from December/2000 until November/2001

I think that WAS the average number in the industry.. In my opinion its dropped to about 3 months. Its a different market then it was back in 1997. I also still have customers back from then but all in all recently Id say it been 3 months. The surfer is getting alot smarter and they generally don't like rebills I don't think. Ive noticed more and more customers sign up then immeadiatly without viewing the site cancel their rebill. More with trials but increaingly with monthly's too. Prob because some of them have been being billed on other peoples sites since 1997....

No quiet.. I said I also have customers since 1997. My point was that the reason why alot of these people are cancelling right away is because they have signed up for sites in the past and been billed for several months before they realized they forgot to cancel .. Now they just do it right away. Not directed to you directly , but to my self and just about any other site thats been around for years.

Some people are on crack in this thread. 99% of sites reatain about the same, there are a few that hold members longer. Those tend to be more personal sites, with live cam shows, etc. where the surfers feel a "bond" with the performers.

Don't you mean that 99% of YOUR sites retain the same?

Blackonblondes, Socalcoeds, Sweetloads, Busty Amateurs when it was still open, all kick(ed) serious fucking ass when it comes to retention.

Just because you don't have anything to compete with that doesn't mean that there aren't sites out there that are superior when it comes to retaining members.

My company has run a paysite for a little over a year now that has had a fairly consistent average retention of about 8.5 months This doesn't include trial to full month conversions, just those members that have gone to the full monthly rebilling -- they stay for an average of 257 days (as of today - over the last year).

Is this that high above the average?
