I got one of those kind of letters from a mainstream client who couldn't afford to pay my bill. It's been about 9 months now since the first letter and I am still waiting for bankruptcy court to finish so I can collect like 28% on the dollar of what was owed. How great is that...

Lesson learnt, mainstream companies don't have money. Porn companies do.

Trust me.. worldcom wouldnt forget anyone owing them money just because they went bankrupt.. they could sell all debts owed to them to a collection agency and pull in some quick cash.

Those letters were a mass mailing, I got 3 of them today, all addressed to 3 spelling variations of our company name. My guess is that anyone who ever had any financial dealing with them (phone service, etc.) at all got one.

I've had mailings from Millberg Weiss [the law firm most responsible for these securities class actions] for half a dozen stocks I owned during the dot bomb days. My tip is: Don't scope out your next mortgage on the hopes of a big payoff. Its usually cents on the dollar and only after you've filed tons of paperwork to prove your membership in the "class."

anyways, when a comapny goes bankrupt, a zillion law firms file these suits in hopes of settlements. I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if you got 10 more letters from different firms

just feel sorry for the people who used to work there

I buy lots, but the important thing to realize is that a lot of these penny stocks are simply securities and they no longer trade on the nasdaq. It is very risky, but if you can buy 5,000 shares of a company like xoxoq for 100 bucks its worth the risk. Because if they ever do get thir heads above water and get re-listed you could be looking at a small fortune.
