Do you always have bad luck with electronics?
So I finally break down and order a new printer from Dell. I spent a pretty penny and the thing arrives on Friday. I had a busy weekend and unpack it Sunday night. When my phone rings the fax answering on first ring.
So I break out the manual and try to switch it to TEL mode. Well, after I did that it keeps on going back to FAX mode. I call Dell and say something is wrong with the printer and they say the memory board is damaged and can?t save settings. They can either send me a new printer or send a tech out next day with the parts. I tell them just to send the tech with the parts as the thing is close to 80 lbs. The tech guy comes, replaces the mother board or whatever and that takes close to 30 mins. We boot it up and the damn thing is still won?t save settings. He calls Dell and tells them the situation and the tech telnets to the printer and upgrade the firmware and some other stuff. Still doesn?t work. So, he puts my in house tech on hold for about 30 mins and his phone dies. Dell tech calls my house and they opened up two new printers to see if they could figure this out on their own. Turns out all the printers there were doing the same thing as mine. So, it turns out I was the first person to notice this bug wherever they ship this damn thing. What are the odds? |
