I think it's mostly genetics. For some, it will cause stretch marks and change in body shape. Others recover almost completely where you can't even tell they had a child.

I am afraid of pain and afraid of death but my vanity is so strong I think I would endure it if my looks depend on it. I heard a tummy tuck hurts a lot though, I know someone who had it and thought she was going to die.

You cannot exercise away LOOSE SKIN and SAGGY TITS. You can lose excess fat but STILL have loose skin and saggy tits. Only thing that will cure that is plastic surgery. I am ALL for plastic surgery btw.

I concur! It really does depend on the person and how prone their skin is to scarring and break down of skin tissue. I started at 19, had 3 kids and never had that bad of stretch marks but my cousin has had only 2 babies neither of them larger than mine and her tummy looks like a road map.

If you mean the stretch marks, that's largely a genetic crapshoot, no amount of "healthy eating and exercise" will prevent them if you're predisposed to get them. I used to work at a salon/beauty supply store that made us take classes from companies like Murad, StriVectin, etc, who make a lot of money off of women who buy stretch mark creams.

The truth is, if you have the right set of genes, even going through puberty or getting a boob job or even losing weight will give you stretch marks, and even though there's tons of supposed products and treatments to help fade them, there's no way to get rid of them.

It kind of makes me sad to think that so many of you think a woman is useless/needs to be dumped if she has stretch marks, because I makes me think of the women I used to talk to every day about this shit who were so insecure because of it =( I remember one lady breaking down and crying because she was afraid her husband would leave her because her stomach looked a lot like that chick's does. It sucked because I knew that all the products she was buying were frauds, but telling her the truth would just make her feel worse.

Okay, ramble, but this thread made me think of that lady and got me all defensive of the girl in the OP (plus I have way too much stored up knowledge about shit like this and I have to word vomit about it every so often).

It's funny everyone's picking on pregnant chicks for stretch marks. Look at body builder and you'll see stretch marks covering them like crazy. Of course, they are airbrushed/Dermablended out during competitions, but they are certainly there for those who have the same "stretch mark genes" as their female relatives have - so taking care of yourself when your skin stretches has NOTHING TO with stretch marks.

BTW, I have scars from several surgeries too - EWWWWW!! LOL!!

It's refreshing to see so many guys here that lived to see their 20's yet still managed to retain their ignorance of youth.

generally speaking, for women, a guy's personality is the dealbreaker, for guys, a woman's looks is the dealbreaker

of course that is simplifying things extremely, but it is a good way to look at the differences of what the sexes are looking for in each other

you can then add in money, and looks and personality in varying lesser degrees of importance for both sexes, but generally speaking, the above sums it up well I think

(and I am speaking of initial hooking up, once a couple is together, a whole bunch of other factors come into the picture)
