mac users - photoshop question

I've recently transferred some stuff over from pc to mac including photoshop.

Every time I open a new image in photoshop it automatically has the grid option showing

now CMD+H will get rid of this but it's a pain in the ass doing it on every image.

I've searched a couple of forums and played around but I can't get it to default to NOT showing the grid on new images when they open.

someone on here must know what to do - please help

thanks

Have you tried deleting the Photoshop preferences file?
