Anybody going to be following Wimbledon ?

It starts today and every year I end up getting into it. Which is a good thing since it is on tv non-stop during the day for the next couple weeks. Anybody else follow it?

I'll never forget when Beavis and Butthead called it "Wilberdon."

That's all I can think of now whenever somebody mentions it, sorry.

I love wimbledon.......

I desperately want Federer to win again but he's had a terrible year on the circuit and i reckon there's a high chance Nadal or someone else will take the title this year. The odds on Nadal winning just 4 weeks back was 8/1 and i considered it but theyve since changed now that there is a strength of opinion that Federer wont win this year.

Federer needs to pull himself together.

As for Mr. Grumpy (Andy Murray)... well, i dont think he stands much of a chance.

There is just something about Murray I don't like. Henman wasn't going to win but at least you kind of liked him anyway.

I only watch some of the womens tennis. For obvious reasons.

Mens tennis is boring as hell. It's all about the serve really. Boring shite!

If watching for those reasons my I suggest listening on the radio to those matches. Much more amplified.

If this were the case, Roddick would always win as the only true weapon he has is his first serve.

That is certainly the vibe we are getting from the commentators over here. Plus, with the retractable roof going to be in use soon then it may be one of the last to have so many disruptions. Sort of sad in a way because the rain breaks are part of the charm of Wimbledon even if you understand the need to move on.

What a match! I spent my whole sunday on bed watching that match...

I was with Roger, I don´t really like the tennis played by Nadal, but he is huge, it was going to be very difficult to beat him, that spanish guy has too much power, it´s like playing against a machine.

Federer made a great match, it was almost impossible to win that match, but he almost did it anyway...

Like i said earlier, i'm not really into tennis at all. But i need to hold my hands up to that one, what a fucking match !!

Games like that will get kids into tennis.

Those 2 are simply on another level to the rest. If Murray thought he had made it, he better think again. He has a long way to go before he can even think about competing with those two. I doubt he ever will actually.

Congrat's to Nadal !! And to Federer also. Both made it a cracking final...

I don't think he thought he would win..he knows who he had in front of him but if he went in saying he didn't think he could win the press would have kicked him about. As it is, he did pretty well and didn't go out in shame or anything like that so we let him live on to play another year. I have to feel a bit bad for his brother who actually does rather well in the doubles and gets not anywhere near as much press.

It was a great match! Whoever wins among the two deserves it! They're both winners actually!

Well they may both have deserved to win but in my view, Federer's was the bigger feat. To come back from 2 sets down against the second best player in the world and a tough nut like Nadal at that.... that shows some serious heart not to mention smart play.

I think Federer needs to regroup but I have every belief that he can out think Nadal and move ahead in the future.

I think Federer is a champion people connect with and it was pretty painful viewing at the end to see him (to use a UK expression) "well and trully gutted". He could barely speak the few words of compliment he offered Nadal but good on him all the same... not everyone will understand how painful this must be for Federer.

But so he didnt make 6 wimbledons in a row? Big deal? He'll come back and win more later. That was the most amazing match (let alone singles final) ive ever seen.

Was a great match and a good Wimbledon. It didn't rain too much this year, but the rain kinda mucked up the final. It was still worth seeing Nadal finally win on the grass there, but I think if Roger won ONE last time it would have been even better. I hope Roger doesnt fade though as there always needs to be that good rivalry.
