If it's a massive web project stick to PHP / Java / Ruby. If it's an HTML form stick to ASP.NET. |

Are you so sure about that? I have a friends that work at a few of the places you named. They may use C for backend stuff, but that's not for the actual web stuff, more just cache distribution, throttling and load balancing.
