In the adult industry a lot of people are too affraid to touch something that makes them good money. They don't realize that they could make a lot more money by some simple changes. Imagine if the hun had added a review secion, or an amateur section with user submitted content, or even a 'tube' section, etc. over the past years, anything that made it more web2.0. If he had done that it would probably still be the biggest porn site around + he would make a lot of extra money.

That decline is in relative numbers (other big sites popping up + more people on the Internet), I'm sure he still gets a lot of loyal visitors. Adding tube/review section wouldn't fix it, what would have made sense for him was to innovate and buy/build web 2.0 type sites. But it doesn't really matter, he makes a lot of money still. Plus we don't know which other projects he is involved in.

but common sense and experiences say, people under 25 are used to use torrents or tubes. they dont want to read links describing what galleries are about....
Simply, text TGPs are thing of the past, despite they can be yet profitable for a long time. As advertiser on some of the biggest sites I follow their sextracker numbers and I found out that some of them went down as much as 50% in the past two years, however thehun only 25%. But the time is not on their side....

Then you have no common sense. Owning common sense would tell you that people want a 'source' for porn that they can trust. Somewhere where they know that the porn will be exactly what they say it is and had been properly vetted. This happens to a small extent on better tube style sites but to say it happens on torrent sites shows you have little or no clue. Oddly enough on the hun you tend to get exactly what the title says. How on earth can you say people don't want a description of the stuff they're about to view?

As for the useless Alexa graph - sit and try to figure out both how Alexa works and why the growth and changes to the Internet would by default show a % decrease. It's really not rocket science

I dont think its the design but rather the content of the site that is bringing it down. times have changed and surfers can get access to thousands of free videos. compared to a few years ago now a majority of porn go'ers have broadband internet access where it is easier for them to stream or download video versus loading images on a dial up line.

I think the hun will have a place to stay but its traffic will do down with the advent of tube and torrent sites. older surfers will continue to go to thehun each day while new comers look for ways of getting faster access to free video content

if you would actualy read my post, I didnt speak about Alexa numbers, I spoke about SEXTRACKER numbers.

I don't think it was a success. So I guess, that person is just not very good at such things. Or he doesn't like to reinvest his money.

Because that's what he should have done. I agree with the above: if the hun had kept up with the times, he would be dominating the biz.

Yeah, but it's exactly what you say: 'growth and changes on the Internet' makes it show a decrease. If he had kept up with times the graph could still show an increase instead of a decrease. The graph proofs that The Hun sits still, while the rest of the internet is evolving.

I know the Hun makes his money from Webmasters and not surfers, but I don't agree with the people that say 'why change something that works'. For the past years he probably got a steady monthly income, and it would still continue for the next years, but if he would have made some changes and kept up with times over the past years he could make much more money and he could have still been the biggest porn site around. But probably that was never his goal, and he doesn't care. I am sure he still makes more money than most of us. All I am trying to say that it could have been more.

i think this is a valid point to some extent. i thought the same thing to myself recently, why are there so many text based tgp / mpg out there and how can they compete for traffic with thumb based ones. then again if they work and are making money why mess it up. if its making money then the demographic is still there.

it would make more sense to leave that as is and try new projects separately if one wanted to try something more 'modern'.

also how are webmasters gonna make money with pirated content? you can correlate this to other industries as well, take movies, you can get most movies as dvd rips before dvd's are even released sometimes before the movie is even in theaters or just came out. should they close down movie theaters because of this?

It amazes me that so many people here think they are in a position to criticize The Hun's marketing approach. If he were in trouble, he'd make a change. Since he hasn't, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that reinventing the wheel isn't in his list of tasks to take on.
