Way too many obscenity trials recently

Not only get did Max Hardcore just convicted, Red Rose plead guilty, the Movies by Mail cousins day in court is coming soon, John Stagliano and that Ira Isaacs - Poop/Animal Guy. Any other trials I'm not aware of? The Republicans really want to rally their base before November, don't they? This really worries me as a relative newcomer to the industry, is anybody else kinda freaked out?

Not freaked out whats so ever.

I think Violence in porn and the abuse of models during the shoot is obscene.
So it seem's the Law is working as intended finally or at least working as I would like it to.

I am hoping for more prosecutions.

Max - Guilty for now, many grounds for appeal.

Extreme associates - still in limbo in appeal land as far as I know.

Redrose - which is just beyond fucked up despite subject matter. Did she really plea guilty? Got a link? Curious as it relates to Miller itself since Miller did deal with the last text based case about three and a half decades ago.

Ray Guhn - not really obscenity but well it kind of is, it also should be federal but it is not.

John - well thou shall not use any common carrier to send videos and thou shall not use the web to show trailers because someone may whip out a fucking telecommunication law from the 30's to say your sending obscenity across state lines. Wait are they saying that count is obscene um no. They are just asking did he break the telecommunication laws of the 30's and if so el fucko for him. No argue time for obscenity there whoo hoo.

Herb brothers - mailing videos, yippie and guess who's videos to boot? Yet jaded got off oh odd.

Ira - again a pure challenge on Miller again.

Now remember kiddies that one really should look up Supreme Court in Stanley Vs. Georgia

Many years ago, just about everything in the adult industry as we know it today would have been considered obscene. But many people went to jail, fought, challenged and opened up the laws so that most of us can do what we do today without fear of being arrested.

Of course, many have decided to continually push the envelope and in my opinion, tread on ground they really shouldn't.

Whether those you cited did or not, is not my point - I don't know the facts. But as long as people out there try to make a buck by pushing the boundaries that were fought long and hard (and painfully, in may cases) by others, then they can expect to face potential legal problems - and in many case, I think deserved.

Just my .02 but if you want to prosper in this business and do so with a clean conscience AND avoid arrests, etc., then simply keep it well within the limits.

Try to push it and I have zero sympathy for you - and worse, you're doing nothing to help those that support and stand up for porn as a right, and giving all the ammunition those that fight porn need.
