Hi,
I have a epassporte account (obviously in USD), but i'm from UK.
What is the cheapest/best way to withdraw money from it?

I assume that if i just take out money from an atm machine, the (uk) bank will take some commission or something for exchanging the money?

I withdraw money from the atm up here in Scotland. Epass screw you big time in extra fees or higher exchange rates but its the fastest way to get your money.

Overall I notice you pay around $6-8 more per withdrawal than the xe.com exchange rate shows.

Not sure just how accurate xe.com is with the exchange rate as it is never the same as what you actully draw out

but atm is the fastest way to get your money

You should compare the rate to your local banks buy US$ rate to get an accurate comparison.
Xe shows me 1 US$= 4.78 DKK my local bank shows me 1 US$ = 4.69 DKK
Included in the amount you withdraw is the $2 fee we charge which is the only fee we charge.

Getting a wire from them may work out cheaper if you plan on withdrawing a large amount over a short period.

i think that best way to get maximum from your epass is to use only for shopping where pos temrinals are.... instead of paying cash or with other cc you own try to use epass more often and get maximum from weak dollar and exchange rates.... at least i use that and think it is good for me....

I was under the impression that the currency conversion fee still applied even when using them as a credit card?

We only charge the $2 fee for ATM transactions if you use the card at a POS/Swipe terminal we do not charge a fee but VISA charges a 1% fee on non-US$ transactions and the owner of the terminal may charge a fee as well.
I know here in Denmark some places charges a 5% fee for international cards but that will show before you approve the transaction.
