I haven't watched the new ones in years.

The boys and Chris watch them, but I just don't like them.

Hasn't been funny since the one that Homer had to smoke weed.

My guess is I'm not the only one if they can afford to pay actors $400k per episode. WOW.

I still watch it, but it seems like they do not make new episodes very often. Maybe that is just an impression, as I haven't counted.

Who remembers when the lady that does the voice of Lisa Simpson had a recurring role in "Herman's Head?" Whatever happened to that series? I liked it.

Hank Azaria (who does a number of Simpson's character voices) was also in Herman's Head.

Wasn't the Seinfeld cast making $800k each per episode at the very end?

They pay the actors with DVD sales... The show doesn't make anywhere near that amount. But if they keep acting, they can keep making DVD's of the seasons.. and make bank on those.

I thought the "Friends" cast was pulling in a mill per episode per character

Wow, $400k per episode to do voice-overs! No acting is even involved! I have to say, thats really impressive.

I believe NBC was offering up to $1MM but Jerry turned it down to end the show on a high note.

Some of those character voice actors must have the production company by the balls; if they don't get what they want and leave, 20 characters disappear too.

I'd have to say acting IS involved especially those who do multiple voices. You don't see animated movies with people off the streets, they hire actors. In fact, many have said it's a lot more difficult because you don't have others to "play" off of - you're in a sound room by yourself reading script.

I still love the Simpsons. In almost every episode there's still some obscure side joke that makes me giggle
