Simpsons "stars" get pay raise

http://tv.yahoo.com/show/211/news/ur...dc__ER :25186

I can't believe that show is still on... do people still watch it?

kristin 06-03-2008 03:25 PM

I haven't watched the new ones in years.

The boys and Chris watch them, but I just don't like them.

Hasn't been funny since the one that Homer had to smoke weed.

Penthouse Tony 06-03-2008 03:26 PM

I still watch it. Still better than 90% of the stuff out there.

Penthouse Tony 06-03-2008 03:28 PM

My guess is I'm not the only one if they can afford to pay actors $400k per episode. WOW.

AmeliaG 06-03-2008 03:30 PM

I still watch it, but it seems like they do not make new episodes very often. Maybe that is just an impression, as I haven't counted.

starpimps 06-03-2008 03:38 PM

simpsons has gone downhill...ugh

Sosa 06-03-2008 03:40 PM

That is some good money per episode!

jmk 06-03-2008 03:42 PM

Simpsons still rock!

HDV18 06-03-2008 03:45 PM

Holy shit thats awesome for fucking just voice work!

SomeCreep 06-03-2008 04:00 PM

Who remembers when the lady that does the voice of Lisa Simpson had a recurring role in "Herman's Head?" Whatever happened to that series? I liked it.

payd2purv 06-03-2008 04:01 PM

CurrentlySober 06-03-2008 04:03 PM

Hank Azaria (who does a number of Simpson's character voices) was also in Herman's Head.

Wasn't the Seinfeld cast making $800k each per episode at the very end?

Kudles 06-03-2008 04:28 PM

I haven't watched that show in like 10 years.

woj 06-03-2008 04:28 PM

Haven't watched it years, just didn't seem as good anymore...

V_RocKs 06-03-2008 04:31 PM

They pay the actors with DVD sales... The show doesn't make anywhere near that amount. But if they keep acting, they can keep making DVD's of the seasons.. and make bank on those.

Sebastian Sands 06-03-2008 04:34 PM

I thought the "Friends" cast was pulling in a mill per episode per character

WiredGuy 06-03-2008 04:34 PM

Wow, $400k per episode to do voice-overs! No acting is even involved! I have to say, thats really impressive.

I believe NBC was offering up to $1MM but Jerry turned it down to end the show on a high note.

And syndication...

rowan 06-03-2008 04:47 PM

Some of those character voice actors must have the production company by the balls; if they don't get what they want and leave, 20 characters disappear too.

I'd have to say acting IS involved especially those who do multiple voices. You don't see animated movies with people off the streets, they hire actors. In fact, many have said it's a lot more difficult because you don't have others to "play" off of - you're in a sound room by yourself reading script.

I still love the Simpsons. In almost every episode there's still some obscure side joke that makes me giggle :)

ashleyfires 06-03-2008 05:16 PM

I still watch it and it's still funnier then most sitcoms on right now! They deserve every penny! :thumbsup
