Why do people smoke out of Bongs???

It doesn't waste smoke at all, although if you let it waste smoke it will. The hits are smoother, like you see in the pic above (nice piece btw there is ice in the tube and water in the bottom. Colder smoke means more dense smoke, which means you get fucking ripped if you do it right.

If the stuff is quality it just seems like a waste, especially if you are purchasing - as the price only seems to rise each year.

I only ask because I was at a party last night and watched a decent sized bag quickly vanish as they went bong after bong.

(I was only spectating of course )

"Waste's smoke", what are you talking about mate? The whole point of a bong is it wastes ALOT LESS smoke and you get alot more stoned for your money. I put in a bong about 1/3rd of what I put in a spliff and it gets me stoned to about the same level. I prefer smoking spliff's tho.

Does it burn own's throat less to use ice as indicated in the photograph posted by Socks, vs. smoking from something like a glass pipe? I love the feeling of being stoned but hate the burn.

it filters it a bit

water usually carries a negative covalent charge...while the weed which is burning lets off positive ions which is what you want filtered out( carbon and crap)..the thc carries a negative charge as well once it has been burned and separated. thus it goes through the water with ease(not filtered)

best answer you are gonna get. i think it covers all the bases. it is healthier, tastes better, gets you higher, wastes less. a vaporizer is cleaner as it doesnt burn a lot of the bad stuff, they are growing in popularity but a good one is a few hundred bucks versus a bong, which you can pick up a cheap one for $40.

What is this, 1960? Anyway a hooka or other water pipe is designed to cool the smoke so the smoker doesnt burn the fuck out of their throat after a lifetime of smoking weeds or corn silk or whatever the hell.

I'm not seeing a clear answer - just a few angry stoner replies.

a spliff of good weed should get you stoned in 3 hits. I have yet to see a whole joint smoked in 3 hits, (hence the 1/3 spliff reply). I have however watched people smoke through a whole bag in what seemed like 10 minutes.

It's not rocket science here, they smoked from a bong which may have delivered more smoke but seemed like it used 3x as much. At $40/50 for 4g of quality I don't see the logic in using a bong when spliffs would last much longer - hence the novelty idea.

and yes, I am familiar with vaporizers and they are in no way what I am referring to here.

maybe I should point out that once a spliff is lit, it is not mandatory to smoke the entire thing.

Dont know who was loading the bong, but you best check the floor around it as it is covered with weed.

If using a pipe or a joint weed goes quite a bit faster and you get less stoned. It is also much hotter going into your throat. It contains much more tar and impurities if you dont use a bong. Thats common sense since you see what bong water looks like after a night of smoking. Don't know why I'm even arguing this is pretty commonly known among smokers.
