Best laptop under $1000 with XP?

I refuse to go to vista, I need a laptop, and I'd like to keep it under a grand.

Suggestions?

Picked this little fucker up at best buy a few months back for $349, couldn't pass it up...guess it was being discontinued:

Came with Vista and it was laughably slow...formatted the fucker and put xp on it (wasn't easy) and now it runs better than my desktop

what are you looking for? gaming matter? big screen? battery life? there is NOT a simple solution to this answer.

No matter the option I'd pop in a 320Gb 7200RPM drive in it after it comes ;) no reason for anything under 2Gb RAM either.
