Taking a first timer to San Fran, any suggestions?

My gf has never been to the bay area and we'll have all day Saturday to check it out. I haven't done the tourist thing there in a long time, so I don't really know what to show her.

I was thinking the Golden Gate and Fishermans Worf, but is there anything else anyone would suggest?

Oh ya, and if anyone knows a good Chinese place out there, that would be awesome too.

Chinatown might be a good place to go for Chinese.

Also, Golden Gate Park, the museums, North Beach, Sausalito

Thanks for the suggestion, but in the off chance Chinatown has more than 1 restraunt, are there any specific restraunts that seem to stand out?

There's a really good sushi restaurant in the international terminal at the airport. I can't remember the name... there's two of them. The one is really good and quite affordable.

Lombard st., Haight st., Coit Tower, Twin Peaks (best view of the city), Union Square, Ocean Beach, and Treasure Island. If you are looking for Dim Sum, check out Yank Sing. www.yanksing.com

If you have a car drive up to the top of twin peaks and get a view of the whole bay area. Than drive west headed out to the beach, on your way stop at Stern Grove: http://www.sterngrove.org/06152008.html Catch some live music for free. Continue out to the beach and check out the Majesty of the Pacific loop back around through Pacific Heights headed towards North Beach. I would stay away from Fishermans Wharf. Its mostly generica tourist shops. Unless you want to check out (and smell) the seals or want to see Alcatraz there is no reason to be there. If you like to check out neighborhoods and people watch the best to walk our The Haight and Mission. You will end up in the Mission anyway if you are going to go to the Kink thing. If you are really feeling adventurous I would get out of the city and go up to Sonoma and do some wine tasting. Its about an hour and change away but well worth the trip.

I've yet to eat there, always pass it though whenever I'm in town, definitely will check that out, as well as Joe's Cable Car, featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive In's & Dives. http://www.joescablecar.com/
